Improving cardiovascular system

i plan on joining wrestling again this year, and it's been like 2-3 years, not to mention i'm moving up from modified to jv. Anyway, i got like 2-3 months i think before it starts, and i've been slackin off lately and haven't gotten around to running. Anyway, wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I'm looking to just increase my stamina, because the last thing i need is to lose weight, i'm like 5'4 and weigh 120 lbs at the age of 17. Anyway, i don't like runnin much because i don't like training in public, but eventually might get around to it. And, I know this board is full of nothing but similar threads, but i'm lookin for something best suited for me. Thanks for the suggestions in advance, and sorry for not paragraphing :p.

well you want to look in to HITT.

You may also want to do some weight training to try and bulk up a bit. If you do then go for compounds.

You should make sure that you are at least doing a good core workout due to twisting against resistance is very important in wrestling.

If you can do nothing else make sure your doing the following...
Pushups (wide and close hand possitions)
pull ups (wide and close grip)
squats
lunges
twisting situps
twisting-hanging leg raises

You could always take up swimming, that's good cardio, and you don't have to do it in front of the whole town, either.

HIIT is always a good idea too.

i wasn't lookin for a core workout, i have that covered, lunges, sit ups, push ups, handstand push ups, and the like.

And, it's been rainin lately, and not many places to swim other than town pool which is probably closed by now, and the river which isn't that cleany, and probably all muddy and rapid with the rain.
