Hey ppl!

I'm so frustrated...i've been working out for the last 3 months. It's a significant change in activity than last year. I work out minimum 3 times a week max 5 times. I do HIIT 2-3times/week and IT 2-3times/week. I've lowered my calorie intake...not by a whole lot but definitely not eating as much as before my training began. I watch the fat intake, carb intake, protien and frequencey of my meals are 4-6 meals a day. I just started drinking 4 bottles of water a day. I just read the information on this site and I started about a week ago. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've only lost 5 lbs this entire 3 months....It's great but i want to see the needle dropping! I try not to weigh myself all the time, maybe 1 every 3 weeks...but i don't see anything....my muscles do feel tighter so i know it's sort of working but again...i want to see the lbs drop and/or me to drop dress sizes.
Any suggestions? :(

I know how you feel!! The first month, I lost about 5 lbs, then after that it was really slow, and I am getting really frustrated too because it's not going as fast as I want it to.

Have you calculated your Resting Metabolic rate compared to your BMR? I know this helped me and also keeping track of exactly how many cal your taking in a day... maybe if you did that you'd see what you're missing. I find w/ myself having yo yo'd so many times w/ diets that my body almost doesnt take me seriously anymore..and I have to work out 6 days a week and keep really good track on my calories..eat small meals every 2 or 3 hrs..or i just dont budge either. Good luck!

uuugggghhhh!!! Thanks for all you're advice....i don't know how anyone can keep from getting so frustrated especially when they obviously changed so much of thier habits....i will try to calculate the resting metabolism....not sure if that's gonna help...
i was also wondering about wearing sweaters when u work out....causing you to sweat more...i know some track runners who do this....does this work?
and does anyone know if sleep could be a factor in why i'm not losing anymore weight? i think on average i sleep 6 hrs a day. is that too little?
one more thing....i drink 2 coffees throughout the day...does this help or hinder weight loss? i think it's bad BUT it does curb my appetite quite a bit....i'm suppose to snack at the times i'm drinking them but after i drink coffee i'm not hungry...now i've been using my coffee as a snack...i know it's not the healthiest but maybe someone can shed some light on this for me?

Thanks again!

Hi Girl Smiley. Remember the important fact here - since you are working out you are gaining muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. So, you will not see the dramatic weight changes. You are doing everything right and it sounds like you are getting results. Stay off of the scale and instead gauge your success by the mirror and how you feel in your clothes. When I competed in my first Bodybuilding show I started dieting when I weighed about 194. 3 months later I had lost 11% bodyfat but was only 4 pounds lighter. So far as the coffee - you may want to keep it to one cup a day. Typically I tell people to have the caffeine right before their workout since you will have a better workout with the boost. Instead why not try a diet green tea (great health benefits) or one of the low cal carbonation free drinks like propel etc...Keep up the great work - you will eventually get to where you want to be.

WOW!!! i can't believe that you were only 4 lbs lighter after 3 months and u lost all that body fat...well i have noticed my pants a little looser...but not a whole lot...i think you've given me some motivation though....i've take recent pictures and ppl have told me i've lost weight but since the scale wasn't showing it i refused to believe it....i just told them i was really photogenic hahahhaha :D

well you've given me some hope....i'll probably see you again in 3 months when i feel frustrated again LOL unless i'm hot N sexxy! LOL

thanks for all your help everyone....the coffee is still my weakness....TimHorton's coffee is spiked or something! LOL

Glad you found some help, but try not to get to frustrated w/ yourself you'll get to your goal i'm sure :) I'm off coffee for now and only drinking green tea exept when i drive by a Tim's.
Btw- i agree Tim's must be spiked b/c i can't pass one w/ out stopping to get one. roll up to win helps a little too, exept free doughnuts aren't the healthiest for you. :D

thank you smiley!

i know what you mean...today i had 2 but i made them medium ones...try so hard in the morning to not smell it but it's like tucan sam in those fruit loops commercials....jus follow the nose!!!! hahahaha i'm glad i don't have an affinity for sweets...that's the only thing that saves me....but i can't resist the cheese croissants....1 maybe 2 a week!!!! i know i'm bad!

thanks for the support!

Hey I definitly know what you mean about getting frustrated, I got pictures developed from new years a couple days ago and freaked out(although everyone assures me I look a heck of a lot different now) the main thing I've stopped doing is weighing myself it just makes me depressed instead I measure my self I've lost more inches all over than pounds which means I've gained lots of muscle you can definitly tell in my legs and I can feel it in my arms (my brothers always flexing his muscles and saying touch the pipes so now I make fun of him and do the same LOL)
I would ignore the scale and pay more attention to the way you feel... or have like a piece of clothing you want to fit back into and go from there.
I fit into pants now that couldn't where a year ago so its definitly a plus!

I sooo know how u feel Jaws!!! I finally measured myself lastnight...i may have lost inches already but i guess better late than never...
I'm still a little frustrated....but have noticed changes in my mood and it feels like i'm gaining muscle...but still teetering on the weight! i'm trying to weigh myself every monday...but no exciting results.
I want to go hard core for 4 weeks because I have a wedding to go to. Wish me luck!
