I'm Severly Over Weight It's Gotta Go!

Hello All.

I found this forum via a quick google search.

my stats are.

Age : 21
Height : 5ft 11
Weight : 279lbs

I've recently decided i need to sort this situation out. i ultimate aim is to lose 100lbs but my real motivator is the way i look, i've got a muscular frame, broad shoulders and would rather lose the beer belly and man boobs and get a more ripped look.

I'm looking for help with coming up with a diet. I have a rowing machine and free weights at home so any suggestions on a training schedule or weight moves/routines for that would be useful.

i work in a office and have a weakness and tendency to snack late at night before bad which is most likely what's cause my obesity.

check the stickied threads around the forum, particularly the ones on nutrition.

your first step is reall to determine the number of calories you can consume in a day in order for you to lose weight.
next thing I would do is go to a site like and set up a free account and accurately record your calories for each day - which will mean weighing and measuring your food before you eat it... :D

Snacking late at night isn't the problem - going over yor daily allotted calories is a problem so basically if you bite it - write it -and keep within your daily calorie range
 
The first step for me was cutting out ALL sugary foods/drinks. Giving up sodas was harder for me then quitting smoking. But within a few weeks of eliminating soda and 'snacks' from my diet, and eating more complete meals, I dropped over 20lbs. And this was with a very minimal exercise routine.
