just a guinea pig. I am proof that a raw diet can give you more nutrition than a vegetarian diet. I eat 5-600 calories a day of nuts seeds figs, plus veggies and fruit. I feel better than when I ate eggs, milk products, meat, fish, grains ect. I thought those things were necessary for weight loss and good health. But I feel so much better, and the weight just fell off. I don't crave pizza chocolate or bread anymore. I crave figs and prunes!

Wait how many calories a day total?

Glad it worked for you. Everyone has a different lifestyle so there is never a one-size-fits-all solution for everyone. Some people give up starches, some people go vegetarian, some people give up diary, some like you go raw, and others eat the same only in smaller portions and healthier. It depends on your lifestyle and what you will be able to stick with permanently for a lifestyle-change that you can actually be happy with.

Congrats.

The weight fell off because you starved yourself. Congratulations?

We don't know that she starved herself. She doesn't appear to feel as though she's deprived of anything.

That said, i am in agreement with Emerald.

I lived with someone on a raw food diet once. She never stopped eating. And its quite expensive.

But frankly i believe the ideas that underpin the theory are wrong. There is nothing wrong with cooked food. Eating cooked food is not bad for you as the raw food advocates like to believe. In fact, some foods have to be cooked before consumption so that they are not poisonous. Do you like raw chicken. I bet you don't. What about raw eggs. While most eggs are not a health risk, if the egg you choose to eat raw has salmonella in it, you will be very sick. You can eat milk on a raw food diet because its natural.

I think maybe what you mean is you are now a vegan. Vegan's don't eat dairy or eggs.

Shes only been on it 5 weeks according to another post, give it a nother few more months before she starts feeling like ass because half the nutrients are missing

Sorry, I meant I eat 500-600calories of nuts and seeds. The rest is fruits & veggies, figs & dates, ect. I think overall, I'm eating 1600-2000 a day. I don't know how to judge the calories in in 2 cups green veggie juice. This is really working for me because so many things seem to make me bloat and constipated- bread, eggs, milk. And as much probiotics I took, I seemed to be to acidic for them to live. I think I was only not bloated once in the last 10 years. It was after I got food poisoning in mexico. I looked in the mirror and thought 'wow that's what I look like not bloated!' Anyways, I was definately lacking something before, because I constantly had cravings.

Ahh, that certainly clears things up.

HAHAHAHA someone who eats 500-600 calories per day, unless they are an infant, is most certainly starving themself.
