I've just joined the site, I'm 31 and got the shock of my life three weeks ago when weighed myself for the first time in about a year and I saw I'd hit 167lbs, my height is 5"6" . I knew I was gaining weight but never thought it was that bad. So I started dieting and exercising and will be starting my 4th week on Sunday. I have lost 3Kg since starting and the inches are coming off . I'm training 6 times per week, 6 days cardio and 3 days weights. I exercise at home using treadmill 3/4 times a week and a spin bike on the other days. When using the treadmill I either do interval training for 30-45 mins or run at 6.0MPH for about an hour. I am currently using a on line tool which I found through Shape Magazine called . It's free for the first 4 weeks, It really has helped me with monitoring my calorie intake and has provided resistance workouts. The subscription is due to expire soon and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a similar or better site?
My weekly intake of calories is around 9000 split 45% carbs, 30% protein and 25% fat, again any help or advice on this would be great. Am i eating enough and is my balance of carbs/protein/fat correct????????????????
I see a lot of people have added their body fat percentage, is their an online tool that you can recommend?
Finally I would like to do some resistance training with bands, do you know of any good websites that showing exercise programmes using them.
I feel very motivated to do this, I really would like get down to the 140lb by August as I will be travelling back home to England and would love to have shed the weight. Sorry for the long winded thread, all advice and tips much appreciated.... BTW Great website
