I'm NEW here!!!!

Hello...

I'm new here and seeking support from others while offering mine as well.

I just hired a personal trainer and I am meeting him for the first time tomorrow. I have spoken to him on the phone at length and I sense he has the type of positive energy that will assist me in staying motivated. I dunno, we'll see. Anyway, I'm filling out paperwork with him tomorrow and I begin training with him on Monday.

What's my story?

*sigh*

I'm 5'3 and use to weigh 130 pounds. That was 10 years ago, and 3 c-sections later I weigh 240 pounds. The picture posted on my profile is just one of the many postions I stand in to hide my fat.

My last pregnancy in 2004 left me on bed-rest for 5 months, so of course I gained a bunch of weight then. UGH

So, I tried going to the gym on my own. Yeah right. That didn't work. Last week I saw a picture of myself that someone took and I broke down in tears at the fat person I had become. I couldn't believe that was me! So, I decided I needed a personal trainer. So, here I am! About to pay someone to kick my @ss! God, I'm nervous.

I'm not really sure what my goal weight is yet. 130 would be nice again, but let's take baby steps.

Any advice anyone? Anyone else using a personal trainer?

Help.... This is a new journey for me!

I want to be beautiful again!

Hey StormGirl! I hired a personal trainer about a month ago. It was one of the best things I could have done. During the summer I am seeing him 2 times per week and working out really hard.

Just listen to what your PT says, and if you follow the guidelines for eating/workouts he designs then you will definitely see results. I officially started with my trainer on 5/29/07, and within a months time I already have seen some awesome changes. Keep at it, it will be really hard at first but, it is so worth it :)

Hi, Stormgirl. :hug2: Your story sounds not too different from mine. (I am 5'1", similar weight changes, 10 yrs. and 3 kids later-- only I had 2 c-sections.) It is nice to see a new person here like me. I hope you make a diary on the forum (if you haven't already). I look forward to reading it.

Thanks for your support Sam. I am very excited to see changes in my body, but also a bit frightened of the gym. My first work out is this coming Monday. I have visions of hell in my head! I wrote about it in my first diary entry. LOL

So, did you feel like you were going to die after you first started with a trainer? I am going 3x's a week. What days do you go and what do you inbetween sessions?

Again, thanks for your encouragement! It is comforting to know that others are enduring the same journey!
