I'm new! =D

Hi everyone! my name is Arianne, I'm 18 years old & trying to get in shape. My membership to the gym expired (monday was my last day). so now I need some ideas. I've considered running but I dont know where to start. I'm 5'3" & 138 lbs. I'm just looking to lose the gut that i've developed. last summer I was at 122 lbs. and was at my lowest weight. I'm trying to do this the right way and eat right and work out but I feel like by just walking i'm not burning any calories and that there's no point. I'm looking to lose 10 lbs. by May 5 (PROM) - is that even possible? & 15 lbs. by June 3. I'm basically in need of support because I get discouraged really easily. hope to hear from you all!

Hi arianne. Welcome to the forum - you will find all the encouragement you need here, along with a huge amount of information that should help you achieve your goal.

You say your gym membership has expired. My first bit of advice would be to renew it immediately.

Good luck with your goals.

I have taken up inline skating outdoors on the road. Since I started the bodyfat has been peeling away all be it not where I really wanted it to. I have seen a big difference in my legs over the past month and it is something you can do for a couple of hrs everyday. You should also be able to get a decent pair of quality fitness skates and protective gear for less than $150, in fact on ebay you can get what you need under $100. Just don't buy junk skates like Quest or 2Xs or you'll be sorry, stick to Rollerblade, K2 or Soloman.

Running is good but does not hit as broad of a range of muscles as skating and running is harder on your knees and feet. It is something to look at.

See -

Thats easy, wherever your legs start moving. Why not try your school gym, if you dont want to renew your membership. You're biggest change (if it isnt already) is your diet. You need to be eating quality food. Welcome
