I just joined here and am looking into joining a good basic group. I ultimately have over 100lbs to lose but would be more than happy to lose 50 (for now). I am a newlywed and what they say is true, "as soon as you get married, you gain weight" and I don't just mean the weight of your husband. I cannot believe how much I weighed when I stood on the scale this morning for the first time in... I don't know how long! I need all the help and support I can get.
Quick Bio: I have a gym membership (we haven't been there since August and we're paying 65/month for the membership), so I have access to any exercise equipment, but I'd like to know what would benefit me the most. See, I work retail, I am on my feet constantly for 40hrs a week just at work alone, these are generally days where I come home, feet so sore, I can't stand to walk, let alone spend time on a treadmill making my legs, knees, feet more sore, just so I can go right back to work the next day in pain. Any other options or lower impact options that any of you have proven to help weightloss I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi! Glad you found us!

As far as excersize is concerned, you could call your gym and ask for some help in that area. Most gyms provide some kind of personal training, at least to walk you through your routine.

What kind of diet are you thinking about??

If you have any questions, let me know!!

As for "what" diet I'm going to do. It doesn't have a name. We're just going to control portions, choose better options, eat out less (and when we do, much healthier), and exercise.
It's too hard for me to choose a particular diet because I'm SO stinking picky when it comes to food, especially meat. I won't eat any meat with bone grissle or fat in it. So, basically I'll eat ground hamburger, chicken breasts, some lunchmeats, turkey breast, jerky, and some sausage, but that's about IT.

Ok, so its basically a "lifestyle change" i love those kind of 'diets' they work well for keeping the weight off for life!

If I could make a suggestion....Ground hamb. is high in cals, so is sausage...maybe you could try the turkey version of both??

oh yea, I can't really tell the difference!
