I'm Just Starting Out..PLease Help Me...

hi..i'm taking weight training at school for this summer session. i began lifting about 2 weeks ago. i have class 2 days a week. right now im not taking anything. just the multi-vitamin everyday which is "Centrum". i been taking that for almost 4yrs.

the problem is i don't eat alot and sometimes i missed the meal. so basically my body doesn't really get any protein or any of the good stuff at all. so yes..i need to eat more. i want to take some protein and cretein. i just want my muscle to get big.

so my question is which protein powder should i take. which on is the best. interm of taste and ingredient. and what brand? where should i get it. i searched this board and some people are talking about "Optimum Nutrition 100% Natural Whey Protien" and ON.

i would like to take Creatine with the protein also. so which creatine should i get . what brand?

and where should i buy it. I would like to buy it online because it's cheaper.

thanks for all the inputs.

please help me.

If you haven't been lifting for a good while, don't start creatine right away.

Work on your diet! start eating!

Try to get protein from regular food, a protein powder is fine, Optimum Nutrition is ON. It's a good brand, look around and see what you like, try to find one low in fats and sugars and high in protein.

start eating, a lot, and well.

These are good-Dymatize, ON, Champion, TwinLab (new formula, not old)
These are great-Syntha 6, CytoGainer, MRM, Micell Edge

For future reference-when you start looking for a creatine, look for Iron Tek's creatine monohydrate...they're cheap.

The biggest mistake newbies to the "iron game" make is they think the solution that equals big muscles lies in taking supplements. This could not be further from the truth. Sure, supplements hold a place in anyone's bag of ammo, but you should not start implementing them until you have your core nutritional components in place. Taking supplements when you are not even eating right is idiotic. It is kind of like a skinny, bony guy wearing a sleeveless muscle shirt. He should wait until he actually grows the muscles before he wears something like that. Wait until you understand and make habit the core fundamentals of eating right and training before anything else, especially supplements!

If you are going to buy something now, I recommend buying a whey protein as this will help get that protein in, but please do not rely on it. Only take it 1-2 times per day. That should be only 1-2 of your 6-7 meals each day. Try to get the majority of your micro and macronutritients from whole foods. And don't forget about carbs and good fats.

I def. recommend doing some searching on the forum for nutrition to familiarize yourself with the fundamentals.

Good luck!
