Hi everyone. I'm new here. My name is Sarah and I'm 21, I'll be 22 tomorrow. I am currently at around 180 ... I need to buy a scale but I know that's where I'm at. I have had weight issues most of my life. I've fluctuated up and down for the past 2 years but now I'm at my highest point again. I need to lose the weight for good this time! I have my plan all picked out and I started this morning.

Lately I've been feeling very tired and drained and I know it's because I haven't been eating right or exercising at all. 2 summers ago I was running in 5 and 10K's and this morning I was pooped out after my 2 mile walk! My goal is to get to 120, plus or minus a few pounds. The lowest I've ever been was 138, so I have my work cut out for me. However, I've waited for the day I'd be 23 (don't ask me why) and I want to look great on that day, 366 days from today.

I look forward to making some great new friends here and sharing together the successes and setbacks that we all have.

Hi Sarah! Good job making that decision and commitment to lose weight... especially while you are still young... you will find that as you get older it's harder to lose weight so take advantage now!!
when I was young like you, I used to love to run too... loved that natural high you get when you run! Maybe once I lose 20 pounds, I will go back to running...

I am also trying to lose weight by a specific date... my 40th birthday! (it's only 5 months away) I joined a gym and normally I hate taking aerobic type classes... BUT I found one I LOVE!! It's spinning... you can burn anywhere from 500-800 calories each class! I don't know what type of exercise you like but it's fun... also you didn't say what your plan is to reach your goal... I have found that keeping a journal is very helpful and keeps me accountable - one more question, how tall are you? and why do you want to lose more than your lowest weight? Best of luck to you!!!

Glad you found us!!

We will support you in reaching your goals :D

If you have any questions, let me know!!

Ciaoana I agree with the natural high with the running...I used to feel like I could never stop running. Hehe not so much anymore! Hopefully someday soon! I would love to try spinning but the gym here in town caters more towards senior citizens and they don't have many classes I like. I live an hour outside of Las Vegas and their gyms have great classes but that's just too far of a drive. I do exercise videos and I have a weight room...so that's not a problem. I need to get a bike and some rollarblades and then I think I'll be okay with the exercise.

As far as the plan goes...I've decided on The Biggest Loser. I rented the book from the library and the plan sounds great for me. And I also use Fitday.com for my journaling. I also plan on posting a daily diary on here. It's nice to get the feedback!

I'm 5'2" and I never really reached my goal weight at 138. I would love to be at 120 but I'm not sure if that's realistic for me, it may be 130, I'm not sure. I'll let ya know when I get there!

It sounds like you're doing great...Keep up the good work!

Welcome To The Forum And Start You A Diary You Can And Will Do This!

Sarah, I am 5'3 and my BEST weight was when I was a size 6-8 and at that time, I weighed 138 so maybe you should reconsider or make your goal a size and not concentrate on the number... that reminds me, I have been wanting to take my measurements too so I can see the change in size because I have only lost 2 pounds but my pants are fitting better already...:D start yourself a journal!!

That's very true ... right now I'm wearing a 14 and at my lowest I was a 6-8, which I'd love to be a 6, maybe a 4, we'll see...Don't want to overdo it. One step at a time. I did start a journal, it definitely is gonna help! Thanks!
