I need help losing a lot of weight by the 18th. I'm having a gastric by pass sleeve surgery soon. Probably by the 5th of September. Any suggestions will help.

Hi Alex,

I'm not sure if losing a ton of weight by the 18th is really attainable. But you can definitely take steps to starting losing weight and keep it off. Eating healthy is always key and if you're working out a lot but not eating the right kinds of food it'll be hard to see any improvements. Pair healthy (and portioned-controlled) eating with a good workout plan and you should start seeing results quickly. Let me know if you need some help finding something that works for you and fits into your daily life.

@Alex - Sorry that you are targeted by all these spammers. Good to hear that you are preparing yourself to lose weight. It will change your life for sure. I advice you to focus on the process, not just on the results. So, change your lifestyle (eating patterns, exercise, etc) and try to learn to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Healthy food can be very tasty and exercising is one of my favorite activities now. When you change your lifestyle, your body will adapt to it. You will lose weight, get more endurance and energy.

But, it will take time. That's another reason to learn to enjoy the process, not just the results. If you like living healthy, you will stick with it and then you will reach your goals.

You are welcome to stay around if you like, we are here to support each other. :)

Hi Alex Cole, the most important thing for you is to learn how to change how you feel about food that affects how you relate to it. This is what makes you eat. the surgery will shrink your stomach, but if you don't learn to modify your eating habits and move every day, you're bound to gain the weight right back. Basically, calories in need to be less than calories burned to lose weight and keep it off. Hope this helps you. ~ Allison
