i am male 19 and weigh about 300 pounds i have a very hard time exercising , i have a large appetite, and have more will power to starve than to cut down on eating because when i eat i dont stop to easily i have a hard time i have no support from my parents and am very poor.

Sorry to hear that. Dieting is key to losing weight, moreso than exercise, and starving yourself just won't work for longterm. What you can try is cut out your sugary drinks and replace it with water or unsweetened tea.

If you get used to that, lower your portion amount a little and then cut out snacking. I had a bad appetite for eating at night and had to fight with it for several weeks, but I no longer really feel the need to eat at night. Your appetite will diminish as you make small changes and adjust to them.

You could try intermittent fasting. It's no miracle fix, though. You could still eat too much even if you confine your eating to an 8 hour window.

Try to lower what you eat little by little. For me, I have been eating rice ever since I was little. Every meal always have to have rice and when it becomes a habit you always have to have it every meal. I believe this was the reason, I could not lose any pounds because there is no way for me to cut down on rice, if I eat I have to eat a lot. For a year I started slowly and by the new year the eating rice and having it every meal mentality was completely gone, I still eat it, but very sparingly fist size portion.

Also one suggestion that helped me is try to drink 1 or 2 glasses of water before you eat. It will take discipline, but it definitely helped me whenever I want to eat a lot or when I feel really really hungry.

I'm not an expert but thought I'd post anyway. Fasting is never going to be a long term option and I know from experience if I do any cray starvation like diets I end up putting the weight straight back on in a number of hours because i scoff food like theres no tomorrow when I crack. If you do need to eat a lot of food to fill you, at least try changing the food that you are eating. You could also try having a smaller portion sizes coupled with a large salad. I never used to like salad but now i make it interesting with a little potatoe salad, egg etc. I know potatoe salad isnt very low in fat but for me, it is better compromising by making healthy food tasty than cracking and ordering a takeaway.

I for one can not lose weight without exercise and it does not need to be expensive. Walking for an hour each day..building up to jogging along with this. For example, when I started I could not run for 1 single full minute, so i jogged for thirty seconds and walked until I got my breath back. I built this up to what I can do now is 45mins non stop jogging.

It can be expensive to buy and make healthy food rather than buying junk, but it can be done cheaply with some effot. If you make food in batches this is very economical. So a batch of bolognese, split into four or five dishes and frozen, then boil some wholegrain pasta as you need it. Or the ingredients for a salad could accompany most meals for almost a week.

You can do it, but the only one who can make the changes is you. Goodluck :)

Health problems related to being overweight, like type 2 diabetes or heart disease, is a serious cause for concern and should not be taken lightly most especially at a young age. Exercise and healthy diet such as fruits and vegetables is one of the basic interventions.

I know what you mean! I suggest looking into the GI way of eating! (GI= glycemic index) what is nice is if you eat low glycemic foods only then you stop being hungry and they keep you fuller, longer. You won't find any refined carbs (white things; white sugar, white rice, white bread, etc) that are low on the GI. It is not expensive, you can look up GI values online for free and probably recipes too. You just have to remember you CAN do this.

Was in the same boat. If not a bit bigger. Defenitley start out slow and slowly run a 1000 calorie defecit a day. You need to have willpower. This is a life style change seriously we got fat for a reason. Gotta stop that.

i have a very hard time exercising

Well, slowly start out walking at least. If you can do more intense cardio thats good.

i have a large appetite

Oh me too, it sucks but slowly you realize that this isn't reasonable.

and have more will power to starve than to cut down on eating because when i eat i dont stop to easily

Well once again this simply needs to change.

i have a hard time

We all struggle.

i have no support from my parents

support is key I hope this somehow can change.

You don't have a large appetite. You're habituated to eating large amounts (of probably the wrong food).
Processed foods aren't very filling for the calorie count so try to limit them as much as possible.

One simple thing you can do is to eat an apple or banana (or both) an hour or two before supper. That'll reduce the amount you'll be able to eat if nothing else and fruits are super nutritious.

FRom what I read it seems like you already know what your problems are, what you really need help with is how to change them, which is fine. One thing I will say right off the bat is that will power is not good, what you need is disapline. Will power and disapline are two different things, will power is trying to convince yourself to do something you don't want to do, disapline is learning to choose an action that better serves your ultimate goal. Another important factor is goal setting. The problem is most people set their goals wrong. The reason most people want to lose weight is problem oriented, meaning their focus is on getting away from the weight they are at. By doing that your focus is always on your negative perspective. What you want to do is set up goals that are solution oriented. FInd out where you really want to be and set up mini goals along the way so that you are constantly moving toward something you want, instead of moving away from something you don't want.

I really like your post and I can tell you are really really serious about wanting to lose weight but just need help. I have been a personal trainer and nutritionist for 7 years and I specialize in weight loss. I would love to help you more personally and consistantly (at no charge) (MOD EDIT) If you or anyone else wants any more general help or has any questions please feel free to ask.
