Sport I'm 16, why am I so skinny?

Sport Fitness
Hey guys, I'm new and this is my first post so as a short introduction I'm Haz and I'm from Warwickshire, England.

I'm 16 and I'm around 6'1"/6'2" and I weigh 154lbs/11 stone. Now while you may not think it by that, I'm very skinny to the point where I'm quite self conscious. I eat alot more than alot of my friends who are stockier than me, however I'm by no means the healthiest eater in the world and I eat alot of junk food, aswell as alot of fizzy drinks. I know that the main reason for this is probably my high metabolism, but I was just curious as to what I could do to try and not necessarily gain some weight but gain some muscle mass to get stockier, mainly in my legs and arms. I think one of the main things bugging me about it is the fact that I have a girlfriend, and while she hasn't mentioned it or brought it up as an issue I always find myself being worried that she sees it as an issue, but it's mainly just a personal issue for myself.

Thanks.

You're probably not - scientifically - that skinny. You just think you are. I'm 5'9'' and just under eleven stone (152lb) and I'm apparently the perfect weight for my height. No single scientific measurement tells me that I'm overweight - but I still think I am, even though I know I'm not, if that makes sense. The mind can play some good tricks. For a real comparison that isn't based on your preconceptions, ask someone else what they think. Preferably someone you trust (who is not a family member).

The other option is that you either haven't got much muscle (which is realistic - I have a friend who's 6'2'' and 13 stone, and doesn't look fat - it's mostly muscle) or your muscles are small (also realistic; I'm the same strength as that friend, endurance-wise, and my muscles are tiny in comparison).

I've heard it said that you can slow your metabolism down by eating quickly, and eating big meals, and also not drinking for a while after them. Don't know if there's any truth in that, though.

The answer to your question is ectomorph. I myself am classified under ectomorph as well and it requires much more determination than that of a mesomorph who develops muscle/mass more efficiently
