Sport if you wake up late, should you catch up on meals?

Sport Fitness
At the weekends I tend to go to bed late and wake up at dinner time. Should I catch up on the meals I missed (ie breakfast and mid-morning meal) or just eat dinner and everything afterwards?
Would your body need the things you missed even though you were not using any energy whilst you slept (or very little)?

You do use energy while you sleep, but here's a general rule for you regarding "would your body need the things you missed":

Eat for what you will be doing, not for what you just did.

If you're going to be up, then you're going to have to eat regularly. "Catching up" doesn't necessarily mean sitting down and overeating in the morning - make sure you eat enough to give you energy for the rest of the ... night.

sleep until dinner time....yeah, that's getting up late all right.......i can't imagine what i'd eat then........what i could face.......

like i eat a light breakfast if it's early, but that's because it IS early and i can't face food yet...but if i slept until 4 or 5 PM.......nah, not partof my world..can't relate..unless I had a newborn (my kids are teens now).......

and then i'd eat whatever i was hungry for........light or heavy......

sorry guys you've misunderstood me slightly, it's my fault. In the part of the UK that I'm from (the north) we call lunch "dinner", and dinner "tea". so when I say I wake up at dinner time I guess I really mean lunch.

Oh and on topic I will catch up my meals if I am only one or two hours late, which happens sometimes on Sundays. As long as I have time to wait at least two hours in between meals then I eat what I normally would.

man...i had the same problem once. i stayed up and woke up around lunch time...if not later!! i was trying to diet and it wasnt working well. so i got on a good sleeping schedual(up no later then midnight, never sleep past 9:30 am) and now i have more energy and i just feel ready to go everyday. if i was you i would try to do all of your evening activities earlier and get a good restful sleep. you will notice a huge difference. as far as eating goes, i agree with these guys 100%.
