If you love dogs....

wow! what an awful situation :(

Heard about this a while ago. Spent a few days spamming the dog wardens email and joined the facebook page. So sad :(

I've been around rotties, german shepards, staffies and pitbulls my entire life and the only time I was EVER bitten was by a border collie!!!! Madness.

It's really bad. Not just this one, but all the other dogs that are concerned as well. I just don't understand how they can decide an animal's character simply by looking at it? If you do that with humans, it's called racism.

I've had a Rottweiler when I was young, and I've always been surrounded by large dogs. I've been bitten twice - once by a neighbour's poodle, and once by a Weiner Dog. The poodle damaged a nerve in my heel and it causes me problems to this day.

I'm not saying that there aren't dogs out there that aren't dangerous. Of course there are. And if a dog attacks somebody for no reason, something needs to be done. But to kill a dog because it is of a certain size or weight? That's insane. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty???

And yes, I love dogs, and it makes me mad when stuff like this happens. Especially looking at the pictures of how they are treating the poor dog. If a 'normal' person treated their dog like that, they'd get done for animal abuse and neglect.

It's hard to believe that there are still such archaic and ignorant people out there, but sadly this is just another example of such ignorance. You can't go up to a human and say, "you look like you MIGHT commit a crime, so we're gonna throw you in prison, just in case." It just doesn't work that way, so why is it any different with our pets or animals in general? If an animal is aggressive, or has any issues at all, it's the OWNER's fault, not the dog's. Animals 'misbehave' or act aggressively because the human has no clue how the dog needs to be raised. We get dogs so that we can treat them like humans, but this is not how a dog should be raised. Rather than locking animals up, governments would be much wiser to spend their money teaching people how to properly raise them.... Anyone ever seen the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan? Everyone who owns a dog should see this show :)
