Sport ice cream!

Sport Fitness
Yes it's summer time and i feel like i can't get ice cream out of my diet. Today I had cereal for breakfast like always and fruit on top of it and for lunch i had fruit and light yogurt. For a snack i had pineapple and then for dinner i had a grilled chicken salad with light dressing and i only ate half of the bread that came with it. So of course since it's soo hot out my boyfriend and i went for some ice cream. I got a scoop of non-fat frozen yogurt and one scoop sugar-free moose tracks. Is that bad to have ice cream like that almost every other night. We seem to get ice cream a lot. But i usually get either frozen yogurt or sugar-free. Let me know what you all think. :)

Go with frozen yogurt. It's close enough to ice cream. You can buy the plain vanilla and add fresh fruit to it like blueberries, peaches, or bananas and/or nuts. I think the secret is everything in moderation. I'm a coconut snowcone fan myself during the summertime. :p I have those several times a week. It's so refreshing!

from reading your post, my main concern isn't the frozen yogurt but the fact that you don't really seem to be eating enough during the day and that your diet seems to be high carb/low fat/low protein.

pineapple on its own is not a meal. fruit and a yogurt is a poor lunch. apart from your evening meal, where is your protein? where are your fats? your fats are pretty much non-existant. try to start having protein at every meal. have some meals protein & carbs, with others being protein & fats. you NEED fats esp EFAs (essential fatty acids). they're called essential because your body can't make them. good sources are oily fish, some nuts, flax oil.

frozen yogurt and ice cream can fit into a healthy diet but my suggestion is to sort out the protein and fats :)

i try to use cottage cheese for lunch with my fruit at times as well. Also i sprinkle almonds over my fruit sometimes. I work at a pool so sometimes it's hard to grab a good lunch. When it's so hot out it's nice to have the refreshing fruit. However I'll take any suggestions i can get. So keep em coming! thanks a lot.

i'm glad you didn't mind me commenting on something you didn't ask about :)

it might be a good idea to log your food on fitday.com for an average day to see what your calorie intake is and your carb/protein/fat breakdown.

how much protein should i be consuming daily? I'm 18 years old if that matters?
