Hello all!been fighting my weight all my life but recently (in past few years) have dropped a around 200lb I’ll get some before and after photos up..I wanted to find a site to
A.help others with my knowledge and experience if I can
B.to find a community that I can talk to about these issues without feeling self conscious
C.to hold myself accountable so I don’t fall back down that hole
It’s been a rough road and through it I’ve gotten my personal trainer certification and Iam working on my yoga teaching certification and I’ve done thousands of hours of research on health and nutrition..so hopefully I can learn some things and spread some of the secrets I’ve learned through this process..
We’ll see you all around:)B7D20E17-D37C-4D9C-A1B7-117BF33596F5.jpeg

That’s a recent photo I’ll post a old one I’ll have to get into my laptop..I still have a little lose skin around my chest and waist..it’s not to bad compared to some I’ve seen with similar stories..

very impressive... would be curious to know what sort of diet changes you made at the start of your weight loss? what is the basis of your maintenance diet today? you look fairly young... i am 65 and even losing ~25% of my body weight, after 4-5 months now at a lower weight, i still have a lot of areas where there seems to be too much skin. it's getting better, but very slowly. did you have any issues with this?

how's the niece doing?

That's awesome!
I am just joining now and will post depending on the traffic here.
I am a 51 year old guy and have lost 130 lbs since Christmas 2 years ago but 100 of it since last August when I went basically Keto without ever hearing about Keto. I just quit sugar, grains and starchy veggies. I eat healthier now and ate basically dirty keto when I didn't know better but have still lost about 10 lbs a month since August last year.

I'm doing lots of exercise now and seeing huge gains, maybe not quite as much as you but I am getting close with muscles growing and veins showing.

A huge congrats again from someone who knows how many thousand reps it takes for those arms and how hard it is to lose that much.

Thank you for the compliment!Iam 39..first changes were just to cut out extra sugars in diet..I didn't really know a ton about nutrition at the time I did a lot of label reading and if it had sugar that wasn't from a natural source(fruits) I didn't eat it..I watch my macros and make sure I get under 300 carbs a day and try to make the majority if not all from whole foods..Cutting out processed foods if Iam not rushed in food prep is a constant goal for me... the skin will be a constant issue I think the older you are the harder it is for it to bounce back because of reduced elasticity..I have a little extra skin around chest and lower stomach..Iam pretty sure at some point if I want it to be right Iam have to get a nip/tuck..My niece is the most beautiful lil girl in the world..thank you for asking:) feel free to ask anything Ill be glad to help as much as I can..I don't know everything and Iam far from perfect but I have ALOT experience in losing weight..

I have heard from others that the body will eventually eat that lose skin given the proper motivation of needing it. I have hope for mine but I have gone from a 48 inch waist to a 32 without as much as I see on some people an I have hope that I can make my body eat all the skin eventually. I guess I'm saying check into it before going surgery.

Yes I am a certified powerlifting coach and former national champion among other things.
wow that's impressive!I used to try to workout for strength when I was younger but never got that strong and I ended up hurting myself..umbilical hernia I had fixed I 2015 and I still have a pinched sciatic nerve..I loved it though..nothing like deadlifting to give you a good rush!I just genetically wasn't gonna go anywhere with it in competitions..

for sure Ill exhaust all resources and give proper time before surgery..Iam trying to remove every bit of fat under the skin as it all bunches up on the bottom..I just have to get really really lean to get their..Under 10 percent is a painful existence and that's what Iam working on.

Hey King, your 200 lb weight loss is really impressive, that is a rare thing. I am glad you are here, I for one am sure to benefit from your wisdom, please keep posting.

I like your pictures, really shows the weight loss.

Lots of talk here about lose skin, at 66 I have lose skin even without losing weight. I look forward to one day worrying about all the lose skin my weight loss has caused. None so far.

Thank you for the kind words..I guess most have these visions of how we will look when we finish our transformation but then we get there and the loose skin kinda messes up that vision..I just don’t feel really comfortable without a shirt on..

Hey buddy
It's really hard sometimes to get over that negative self image. I still sometimes see myself as a smaller version of the same fat man. I've even had nightmares where all the weight came back over night because I accidentally ate the wrong thing.

You look great, and I'm not even gay.LOL
Seriously man, you have to let go of that old image of you and embrace the awesomeness. No negativity man, not ever!
