Sport I weigh 5 pounds less in the morning.

yeah I know you're supposed to weigh a little more at the end of the day than in the morning but Im noticing a 5 pound difference. Is this normal?

Im 189 in the morning and 194 during the day or at night.

background info:

Im 23, male, 5' 10". There is some history of diabetes in my family but Ive had my blood sugar tested a few months ago and it was normal. For the past couple of weeks Ive drastically changed my diet for the better and workout everday. I drink a lot of water too.

Between liquid intake and food, yes, perfectly normal.

i work afternoon shifts 3:30pm-1:30am and by about 10pm my pants fit much looser than when i started, almost to the point to that i need a belt to hold up pants that fit normally during the morning. so i guess im the opposite as you, but i also work opposite hours as most people. i have never weighed myself, but im guessing its close to 5lbs as well.

Yeah, thats why weight is hard to use to track progress. You should only check your weight once a week to track progress; but I have been doing it everyday because I'm so curious...

I think doing it more than once a week is just setting yourself up for motivation problems. You will not see anything worth seeing in 24 - 48 hours, and if you're looking at it every day since you will never see any real difference you may get very discouraged. Even if you lose say 10 lbs, if you're seeing it come of in .25lb incriments you dont even really "see" a change.

Thats exactly what has been happening to me lately and when I see like a 2-3 pound gain I lose motivation and start falling off my diet. Thats why I started tracking my progress by photos for now on. And occacionaly see my weight just for curiousity maybe once every week or 2.
