I want to lose 50 kg but all I do is keep gaining

Hello
My name is Mila I am 33 years old and I weigh 124 kg - that's I think about 270 pounds i have to check exactly.

I live a sedentary lifestyle, work in front of a computer almost no physical activity and I feel really sick looking at myself in the mirror.
I feel difficulty going up more than 2-3 flight of stairs.

I don't eat that much, but I am bipolar and I drink some medicine to keep my mood swings at bay and this slows down my metabolism
But of course the main reason is I am lazy and gluttonous.

I recently spoke with a woman that lost as much as I want to lose and when I asked her for advice she said - it's all in two words- hunger and sports.. That's all.

I feel I need to communicate with others that have the same problems and are facing the same challenges that is why I came here.

Thank you

Hi Mila,

Do you have any health concerns that could potentially prevent you from doing certain exercises/workouts? If not, what do you feel is deterring you from working out? I know you said laziness but is there something specifically about working out that causes you to not want to do it (i.e. don't enjoy working out, haven't found a workout you like, feel that you don't have a lot of time)?

Also, may I ask what your nutrition is like? Do you eat relatively healthy food or sway more toward sweets, high-carb foods, etc?

Hi Mila,

First of all, thanks for sharing your story. It takes a lot of courage to be honest with yourself. I'd recommend you simply just start walking 30 minutes a day outside. First thing in the morning when you get up is best. So you might want to consider getting up 45-60 minutes earlier to get this done if you're working. Just start with that. It will help with how you feel, how your body burns calories, help you sleep better, and helps your brain work better. There are so many benefits to getting exercise. Start with that, every single day.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Mila -
I'm also 33 and weigh about the same. I've never been this heavy in my life and always played sports. The last few years I stopped playing sports and sit behind a desk all day. I, too, just feel blah and lazy. Despite my best efforts, I don't always eat healthy.
Maybe we can help each other. Or at least encourage. I just joined a gym last weekend and have been three times.

That's great Miranda. You've taken positive steps in the right direction by joining a gym and actually going. What type of workout do you do at the gym?

Hi Allison -

Thank you. Last night I did the treadmill for 25 minutes at difference inclines. Walked some, ran some. Then did some work with a kettle bell and medicine ball. I worked out for about 40 minutes total.

Sounds like an awesome workout. If I was allowed to have some medicine balls and kettle bells at home, I would be all over that.
