What is organic food? From where can we buy organic products? Actually, I’m suffering from health problems and my family doctor has suggested me to take only organic food. So I want to know more about organic food and their recipes. Please let me know if you have any information. Thanks.

organic food is just vegetables and stuff grown without all the sprays keeping the bugs off. often it looks nastier and costs twice the price of normal veges and fruit.
supermarket will have it.

Uhh, Well it could be argued its better for the environment and better for ones health. It does generally cost more.

Your assuring yourself of a product free from most "ingredients" that are deemed harmful. You won't find HFCS, partly hydrogenated oils, artificial colors/flavors, Genetically modified foods and so on in Certified organic food.

Pesticides and so on are not allowed to be used on veggies and fruits. This is both good for environment and I believe for ones health.
cows and so on aren't allowed to be treated with hormones to increase milk production as well as meat accumulation.

Most fruits and veggies taste better I find. As well as most people I have talked to agree with that.

do some googling on organic foods -because it's super trendy now for something to be called organic - hell even walmart sells it -not all food needs to be organic... for instance if if something has a really thick skin, that you don't eat (like bananas) it doesn't need to be organic...

Hi,
Organically grown foods are becoming more popular as people are more concerned about their health and the safety of the food they eat. Essentially, organic products are grown and transported without the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides. I would like to prefer you a site called . You can get information about organic foods and recipes. Hope this will help you.
Good luck!

100% organic means all ingredients are organic, Organic means that 95% of ingredients are organic, made with organic ingredients means that at least 70% of ingredients are organic. Organic labeling is regulated by the USDA, "natural" is not so the term is meaningless.

Organic farming is much better for the environment. The practices are much more sustainable for the land. The product has also been found to have a higher nutritional value.

Its worth the extra dollar or so.

The product has also been found to have a higher nutritional value.

I was actually kinda interested in this, as I have friends that are farmers that WISH they could spend less money on their crop, and then sell a smaller, inferior crop for an inflated rate, so I did a little digging...

The only study that has been done that concluded that the "organic" foods had higher nutritional values was finished very recently, and articles about it from all of the green sites have completely flooded my usual search engines, and I can't find anything else except for that single study. If anyone else could post some research that they found, that would be awesome.

Interesting.

I don't care all that much that the products might have the same amount of vitamin A or whatever other micro.

That really is a moot point considering the major difference between organic and non-organic.
