I want to go to the olympics...

What sport do you think I can succeed in when I'm 20 years old now and plan to train from now on. I'm a runner but only doing my first half marathon in september so maybe a marathon runner considering they can succeed at an older age. Any ideas anyone? :D

Does bread buttering count as a sport?

What about skeet shooting? Pretty sure that one does.

Anyway, you can be or do anything you want, bb. You have the power of Focus's wuv! Which is roughly equivalent to 8004237 kWh. Also, y'know, legs and a brain. :D

Hm. There are a lot of sports out there. I mean, you could go as an archer if you've got what it takes. I say try them out. Look at where your strong and weak points are. Relate that to whatever sports there are out there. Look at things like learning curves (gymnatics has a high learning curve, running relatively low). IDK. Do what you're good at. Because training is now your job, if you're serious.

This is the best I've got at the moment, body of an olympian?

See, Lei? Maybe if you were as smooth as your old boy swimmer chicks would be under your desk instead of in Beijing.

Also, jury says guilty. Rawr. Is Xena an Olympic sport? Because she should be, imo. Horseback riding, maybe? I'm told some people find it quite enjoyable.

Horse riding enjoyable? Yes when you're trotting at an enjoyable pace rather than jumping over those things, I don't think they get the whole sexual satisfation at that level.

Judging by some of the ****e that count as Olympic events at the moment I'd suggest practicing at something like the egg and spoon race or hop scotch as I imagine they'll be in there by 2012

Most of those sports take many years to become good at. Look at the endurance sports. You will find that most of the athletes are older and have been involved in those sports for many years. The reason for this is the development of economy and efficiency. Look up "factors predicting success is endurance sports"

BTW didnt realise you were so young, and that beach picture looks like it was taken on my deck because thats what I see from my back door.

I had a similar thought, I was watching it thinking "With all these sports, there must be something I could totally rock at". I always thought modern pentathlon sounded like my thing. Its:

Horse jumping
Pistol shooting
Fencing
Swimming
Running

Which sounds perfect for me because I've ridden horses fore years, I shot guns about five years ago and was marksman first class, I did a little fencing in summer camp, and I do some running. Swimming I'd have to work on.

Of course the big problem is that so many sports are dominated by 16 year olds these days -_-

To be honest. It isn't happening. Especially not for the next 1-2 olympics. Some of these people have been preparing their whole lives for this moment and training for hours on end.

This is just a phase because you watched the Olympics, just like when I watch a martial arts movie I wanna learn Mui Thai, but it passes.

But if your serious, go find a coach.
