I want thinner legs

Hello, first post. I'm seventeen years old, male, weigh about 130 and my height is 5'5. I recently (two months ago ) started riding my bike more frequently, roughly about two hours per day, four days a week.

The problem is that my legs are unproprotional to my upper body as I have a skinny complexion with the exception of my legs, thighs and butt. Anyway, I would like to know if by continuing to ride my bycicle would I be able to reduce the bulkiness of my legs. Also note that the bulkines became more noticeable once I regained my excercise routine a couple months ago and would also like to know why that happened.

Any help would be appreciated.

First, why not do some weight training and build up your upper body to balance yourself out rather than trying to reduce your legs? At least try some pushups and pullups for a few months if you don't have access to any weights.

Question: Is there a lot of fat on your lower body? If so then the only way to reduce it is to reduce your overall bodyfat level by eating a clean, calorie restricted diet.

There are 2 possible reasons why your legs might have actually gotten larger when you started doing a lot of bike riding. First, if you added some muscle without reducing fat through a calorie restricted diet the total circumference of yuor legs would increase. Second, your body could be storing more fat in response to a high volume of long slow exercise. Simplified, after a long slow endurance activity, your body tends to store fuel, assuming that another long slow endurance activity is coming soon again. That is why short duration, high intensity activities are better at buring fat for most people. Another thing you might consider is that the exercise is just reduicing your upper body faster than your lower body and your lower body is not growing, but just reducing slower than your upper body, so appearing bigger in contrast.
