I think I've got a stye or something

For the past week my eye area has had a weird swollen/tender feeling. I couldn't really see anything but it felt like I was hit in the right eye. Then a couple days ago I woke up with a slightly swollen eyelid, but it wasn't that noticable. Today I woke up and my eyelid is really swollen. It looks ridiculous and doesn't really hurt but feels a little annoying. My actual eyeball is not pink or anything. It seems like it's just the eyelid that's messed up. I don't know what to do as I was either going to pick up a shift today or go job hunting and I look so ridiculous I don't want to do either. I thought I somehow got bruised so I put ice on it but after doing some research it seems like I may have a stye so I started putting a warm rag on it every 2 hours since I woke up. Any other suggestions? I don't think I've ever gotten anything like this.

You should probably go to the doctor. You could have something serious like an infection. If you don't remember getting hit in the eye, then you probably didn't get hit. It is most likely something more serious.

Oh, I think I had the same thing about a year or two ago, I've completely forgotten what it was now. I'll ask my girlfriend if she remembers. I know it was treated with eye drops and a wet cloth. It was nothing at all serious but pretty annoying

CCR - Can't seem to find any kind of bump or anything. Maybe it still needs to surface? As far as I can tell my whole eyelid is just thoroughly swollen.

It's best to see your doctor anyway, if it is just a stie. If you have sterile water or eye wash you could try bathing your eye in that every few hours before you get to see your doctor.

Nice link Chillen!

I battled styes for a couple of years. I would generally get them after wearing my contacts for a couple of days. They were a royal pain. The optometrist would give me oral antibiotics but they didn't seem to help. Finally he gave me some eye drop antibiotics and they worked best of all. I finally decided to have Lasik and haven't had one since (3 months so far). Good luck in getting them under control. I think they are rare in most people, mine just happened to be more common.

Quick update:

The swelling has been consistently going down and now you can barely see it again. It seems like since i've been sleeping on the couch it's been getting better. Maybe something on the bed was bothering it? I remember the morning it was really swollen I woke up with that side of my face on the pillow. Hum....Well i'm just happy it's getting better :D
