I sweat in my sleep all the time! Why?

I'm not overweight, but it doens't matter if it is cold or hot in my room, I sweat like a damn pig while I sleep. Not because of nightmares either. Happens almost every night!! If I don't sleep with a shirt on, I wake up on a damp pillow. What can this mean to me and my health (i.e metabolism)?

some people are shvitzers. speak to your dr if you're concerned.....

yes go speak with your doctor :p

but i dont see what the fuss is about though. unless u wet your bed :]

u probably have overactive sweat glands hah @_@

I have the same problem. It's pretty uncomfortable and I feel like i need a shower, sometimes i do in the middle of the night.

Man that must suck so much...I hate sweating in my sleep! I feel for you guys...I would probably end up sleeping with towels instead of pillows and blankets, lol

lol not a bad idea

I sometimes sweat a lot in my sleep, it's annoying to wake up all wet! it's very for this to happen to me, though. I sweat a lot throughout the day, however, and that sucks too!

I had night sweats when I was pregnant. It was hormone related. I've also heard menopausal women can get them. As for men, I don't know, I'd talk to a doc.

Of course, are you sure you're not just drooling all over yourself? or worse? :p

Sometimes I wake up from sweating at night too. I learned that I have to keep the air at 70 degrees or less and can't wear socks to bed, and I'm fine.
But here's a link that may help you some.

Night sweats can be an ominous sign of something more serious, but since you're on this board, I bet you're pretty healthy. Could be the increase in your metabolism from working out. When did this start? I'd have to hear more of the story and see the overall big picture to help you. Just mention it to your doctor and they'll draw a few lab tests just to make sure you're okay. Don't forget to replace all that water. Good luck!

That's that I was wondering!
Sometimes I have lurid dreams and I wake up damp.
I rarely have nightmares. Mainly I sweat during those nights of vivid dreams, which are fairly common. I eat right, sleep right, and like it cold when I sleep (under 70 farenheit). But what "ominous signs" could this point to?? Could it be an over active metabolism or something I should be conerned about?
