I need Valentine's Day Ideas!!!!!!

All my life I have hated this holiday and have referred to it as the devil's birthday. It all started when I (as a fat kid) received a bunch of balloons in 5th grade from a secret admirer. I was so excited that a boy actually like me. At the end of the day, Clint walked up to me and confessed and asked for the balloons back because he wanted to give them to another girl. He said I was too fat and that he didn't like me anymore. Nice huh? Every year got worse. My grandfather even died on v-day a few years ago. Last year my husband (pilot in USAF) had to fly all night long so I didn't even see him. I cried myself to sleep. I am determined that this year will be a happy one. I already ordered my husband some specialty candies and treats from a bakery we love. I would like to really surprise him and I need some unique ideas. He is an amazing husband and I want to show him just how much I love and appreciate him. Please help!!

I'm the least romantic person on the face of the earth - and hate vd more thanantthing - but honestly - based on what yuo just said.

Write him a letter - or a keepsake journal or scrapbook - that has poems or meaningful songs or events from your past -

basically - just tell him how you feel...

My favorite love poem - from elizabeth barret browning but there are tons of poems that are about love..
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, -- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! -- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Thanks. I love that poem too. I did the scrapbook thing for Christmas. We are constantly doing sweet things for each other so I'm running out of things to do. It's very frustrating.

ok then dinner in - with your favorite meal prepared... lock the doors and turn off the phone and give yourselves alone time.

followed by strawberries dipped in dark chocolate and find some fun adult uses for the left over melted chocolate :D it's seriously fun :D

Shower for two in candle light and proper music

massage...

Just a relaxing night with no demands and giving each other yourselves... sometimes just being with someone completely without distractions is the best gift to give

Or silk scarves, blindfolds, ice cubes... :D fantasyfest :D

for other fun - there's a product available (some lingerie stores sell it, otherwise drugstore.com sells it called Honey Dust by the company name Kama Sutra - this is neat stuff - it's a powdery substance that you can brush on body parts with the enclosed feather applicator and then lick it off :D it's sweet tasting.

Did I mention how much it sucks being single on valentines day :D I have all these ideas and no where to go :(

Awesome ideas! I will definitely be trying the candlelight shower. All the other ideas too!

I totally understand. A few years ago before I met my husband, I walked in on my boyfriend in bed with his ex-wife on v-day. I spent the entire night on my front porch with an entire bottle of Jose' Quervo. I woke up in my hallway. Don't know how I got there. Worst hangover ever!!

How about make it an all day occasion? Pack his lunch and leave a nice little love note for him and a special container with something.. hmm.. provocative (or not) for him to think about later. This could be a token redeemable at any time by producing the item you have given him. .. In the letter, let him know why the item is with his lunch and that he can choose when to redeem it.

Send him an email or 2 or call after lunch just reminding him of the token to keep the anticipation up....

Or, give him a choice of a specific dinner (e.g. spaghetti, steak, chicken) and have activities you know he likes or doesn't like associated with them but don't tell him in advance which activity is associate with which meal, just let him know that dessert is going to be a little different. .. If you have associated a week free of laundry with meal 1, then tell him that's what he gets, if you have suggested more.. ahem.. personal activities that he will enjoy ..then so be it.. but of course all of this is in addition to the hanky panky. :D

Valentine's Day is coming and you're wrestling with what to get your wife. You want something as special as your feelings for her, yet as tangible as the ring you placed on her finger when you were married. Following are some gift ideas any wife would love.

1. Private retreat. If your wife is like most, she would appreciate some extra time spent alone with you, especially if she's also a mom and has had little personal time for herself lately. Why not consider splurging for a weekend away. Can't afford that this year? Then consider hiring a baby sitter and spending the weekend all alone doing some of your favorite activities. Little things mean a lot, by taking the step to spend more time with your wife, you will give the greatest gift any wife would love -- her husband.

2. Spa special. Any wife would appreciate being pampered with a trip to her favorite hair salon. Throw in a manicure and pedicure, and enjoy watching her twirl in delight as she shows off the results. One great spa special is a make-over, including a facial and image consultation to help your wife choose colors that would flatter her most. Many larger departments stores have ongoing and special make-overs for free with or without a make-up purchase. Stop by your local store and ask whether they offer gift certificates. If they do, don't forget to add enough cash to the certificate so that she can purchase some of the new make-up she tries. Warning: If you wife does not wear makeup often, this may nto be the gift for her.

3. Sparkling gems. Consider buying your wife a piece of jewelry to replace something she has always wanted, or desperately need. Earrings (make sure you check to see if she prefers clipped or pierced), watches, necklaces, pendants may fall in this category. Based on your budget, you can choose from precious, semi-precious or custom jewelry in styles and designs that flatter you wife's personality and unique image. One idea, could be to replace a stone that she has lost from a favorite piece of jewelry, bringing new life to an old favorite.

4. Perfect picture. Surprise your wife with a new family portrait. There are two ways you can do this. The first is to get a professional portrait with just yourself, and if you have them, your children. The second, is to set an appointment that includes your wife post-spa special. In the latter, the portrait will remind her of the special spa treatment you gave her this year.

5. Money, honey. Your wife will love money as a valentine's gift. The pitfalls of this, however, is that she may consider it a "no-brainer" gift that you gave her as an afterthought. Or worse, she'll take the money and run and spend it on you and the kids. The alternative? Give her a gift certificate, gift card, or e-certificate (online gift certificate) to one of her favorite stores. This could include a store that sells clothing, perfume, jewelry, handbags, shoes or any other things for women only! Put a deadline on it (say 30 days), and that'll force her to think and buy quickly.

Bake the guy a cake and decorate it (try red velvet), we appreciate that kind of stuff. Or go on a nice long walk with him at night at some fun place.

Or get a romantic hotel room; whatever works lol.

How about edible heart-shaped pasties for your boobs--then he can lick/suck them off..do they make those? lol You could put them anywhere you want, really ;). My H and I have had similar fun with fruit roll ups. :D TMI?

V-day always sucked for me, too--especially when I was single and bf-less. Now that I'm married, we hardly even celebrate it and I really don't care. :D

I think the cakes would cover up my boobs entirely. Maybe Hershey Kisses?? Ha!

Sean and I are HUGE romantics and we love to have an excuse to pamper one another. We're one of those "disgustingly in love" couples that are always holding hands and hate to be away from each other.
