Alright, so for those of you who don't know I'm a high school cross country runner. Well during the XC season I broke my leg (stress fracture of my left shin). Well anyway, I was obviously not allowed to run. I got cleared about a week ago but there were a lot of exceptions. I couldn't run a lot at first.. but I had to progressively get back up to about 7 miles. Well, I haven't been able to get back into it yet. I tried running last monday with a friend from the team after school, but then the weather got really unbearable (about 10 degrees F and snow...) Well... I would usually just keep running outside because I love running but she couldn't stay after everyday. Plus I have drumline every Tuesday and Thursday for about 4 hours and if I run, I won't have time for homework.
So I thought about it and here are my choices although none seem to work...
1. Run after school- Well, this would be good if I had someone to do it with. We could find some softer type place to run and run there. But again I could only do it 3 days a week, I know it's better than nothing but still... Plus I feel bad making someone stay after with me three days a week.
2. Run with the track team- They are actually starting conditioning tomorrow but I'm not sure whether I should go. See, it's inside and well, I broke my leg from running on too hard of ground too much, so I don't know. I wouldn't have to worry about Tues/Thurs because they only meet on M/W/F and I wouldn't have to worry about people staying with me because some people will be there from the team. (I am on the team btw )
3. Run around my street- This is just so.. bleh. I don't know, I could do it but again, it would be hard ground and there aren't any sidewalks. Also, it would get so boring, my streets is only about .3 of a mile long so it would take 10 laps just to do 3 miles. I guess I wouldn't have to worry about a friend though.
4. Don't run/do cardio- wish I could but.. eh.. I have to.
5. Gym membership- My mom said she'd look into it, but I don't know. I can't drive yet, so I won't be able to get there without her taking me.
Don't forget to consider weather in the whole process of these things
I just need advice.
