I need some advices

Hi, my name is Eric. I am sort of new into the world of weight training. So I have a questions in my mind that I want to ask. First thing first, I am 20 years old, 5'8 and I only weigh 120 LBs, and I have a bowflex at home. So what I'm trying to do this summer is gain mass and muscles. But I just want to ask what are some protein shakes or supplements that I could take that could help me gain mass. And also, I have a bowflex at home, I was wondering what kind of exercises that best suit for me. Thanks

well I don't know crap about the bowflex, but in general you'll wanna emphasize compound moves: bench press, rowing, squats...stuff that makes you use multiple muscle groups to move the weight. you can do a few isolation moves like bicep curls at the end, but since compound chest exercises work the pecs, shoulder and triceps, and back exercises also hit biceps, those isolation moves are kind of secondary, especially for a beginner.

Your biggest issue is you're not eating enough. You're 20lbs under weight per 'the average weight of a male that's 5'8"...

more food, more often. eat 6-7 times a day, since it sounds like you have a very fast metabolism naturally.
eat the right kinds of foods, plenty of healthy carbs, fats and quality protein sources, and workout the whole body 3x a week. for now I wouldn't focus on cardio, since you already burn a lot of calories naturally, and cardio just burns more.

you need about 500 extra calories a day to bulk up at a reasonable pace, without gaining too much fat in the process.
