I am 17 years old, male, 1'86 cm height (about 6 inches something) and I weight 95kgs.... I used to be skinny during my teenage years but as I am getting closer to 18, I'm getting fatter and fatter...

I made curves, a belly and my face is starting to become fat too! I need immediate help, I am one of those people who were always the "good-looking" person and I really, really care about how I look!

I've subscribed to the gym for a month, the subscription ends in about a week and when I did a healthy diet, I saw SOME results, but even when I diet now I keep getting fatter and fatter...I don't know what's going on.

First week I went to the gym 4 times, 2nd week 3, 3rd week 2, and this week none yet. I am desperately keeping myself off of crying at how I came out the past 2 months!

HELP!

It all comes down to your diet. First remember you are still growing. your body is reaching adult hood so it's going to be changing.

As far as 'getting fat', then you need to really look at what you are eating compared to what you burn. My suggestion is for one week, write down EVERYTHING you eat. Leave nothing out. If you can measure it, even better. After one week you can look back at your diet and see where changes can be made. They can be small changes that can really impact your weight.

You just have to be honest about it. We have a whole section in the forum for weight loss diets so we can help cheer you on. There is also sites like fitday that can help.

Hello there, i've had about the same problem when i was 18, got my driving license then pop-fat all over!, for an easy way to lose weight you could look online for a diet that suits you, then ask a Dr about it, and somepeople just believe that gym makes them lose weight, you know its not the gym you could go outdoor training once every 1~2 days gym just got more abilities.

most important thing is keeping it up, sometimes you feel down about it taking long just you need to know that maximum 6mnths fine excercising is going to give you the shape you want, and never give up from training.. sorry if I talk toomuch! and goodluck ~!

Have you tried going to a weight watchers meeting? My 20 year old daughter doesn't take much notice about what I tell her about nutrition as I have not been a good example to her in the past but takes a lot of notice about what they teach her at the meetings. They teach you about making healthy choices, eating smaller portions and how to incorporate 'cheats' into a normal young persons life so that you don't feel deprived and resentful about having to be on a diet.
Also try and make sure that there aren't any of the wrong type of foods around to tempt you. We just had visitors for a couple of weeks and when they were gone I binned all the 'bad' foods that were around as my daughter just can't resist if they are there.

I think 17 is still considered as 'teenage'. When you reach 20 you go into adolescence... ;)

I can still remember from my teenage years, a lot of boys started drinking alcohol at parties. If you do, watch out. A beer belly is not called a beer belly for nothing. Alcohol has A LOT OF CALORIES. And soft drinks are almost just as bad.

My husband use to be VERY LEAN, his granny commented each year at Christmas that he 'is even skinnier!". Lo and behold, he started drinking beer quite regularly. Now he has developed a slight beer belly. I wish his granny could see him now (rest her soul) - no more accusing looks at his wife not feeding him properly... :)

You could benefit from weight training. Or maybe cycling. I do not like going to the gym - so I do yoga at home. Great for toning and developing core strength.

Do not starve your body from essential nutrients. You are still growing. Rather up your calorie burning rate... and love your body.

I really liked your story hehe :)...Well, it's been a month now since I started and I lost 5 Kgs...My face got thin again but I noticed no change on the belly whatsoever. I cut down the beer to 1 every week, or maybe I'll even pick Cider over Beer. I got 12Kgs more to go, I hope I can lost fat on the belly until then!
