I Need Help!

:(

Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new to these forums. I never thought I'd have it in me to join anything like this online because I always figured I would be able to control my weight.....but I haven't been able to.

I'm about 5'10'' and used to hide my weight well until I ballooned slightly when I went to College.

So, last year, I tried Atkins and went to the Gym very often and slimmed down to 200 (big boned) and looked great.

THEN...this year, I ballooned more than I ever have before: 245 Lbs now and very upset :( For some reason, I have a feeling of uselessness and am I trying my best to fit the Gym into my schedule.

I'd like any and all support as I'm really starting to show my weight more than ever before and I'm up to a Weight 41/42.

Please support/help if you can!

Thanks.

Hello & welcome to the forum. You will find lots of help and support here. Many of us have gone through the overweight experience. So the advice you get here will be practical and encouraging.

Cathy.

Thanks for welcome me, everyone! :)

I'm trying to change some of my eating habits.

Is there a problem with Diet Soda? I always drink Diet - never the regular soda. Also only have 1 cup of coffee a day.

I figure I gotta start somewhere! ;)

Hey and welcome..i am also new. i, myself, love diet sodas as well :) however, I do try and limit my intake of sodas to one a day, and stick with water the rest of the time, when I am trying to lose weight. You can get those crystal light packets to flavor your water, if you want to change up the tastes. Good luck :)

Avoid Soda like Plague…

Deputy

There is a thread done this month in this forum about the dangers of Coke and Sodas. Am sure someone will direct you.

Anyway, all diet sodas contain aspartame which is also called nutrasweet. Nutrasweet is extremely sweet. Very little is therefore required to sweeten foods and beverages. As a result, products sweetened with nutrasweet are usually lower in calories.

It has however been shown that nutrasweet causes you to crave carbohydrates. You may therefore not loose as much weight because you will crave and pile up other calories.

Long term ingestion of nutrasweet leads to acute and chronic toxicity. In addition, some studies have recommended further investigation into possible connections between nutrasweet and diseases such as brain tumors and brain lesions.

Needless to say if I were you, I would have nothing to do with diet coke and its brothers and sisters. Perhaps only once in a long long time when I want to poison myself!

Cathy.

Hi! I'm new too, and hoping to get back on the diet/exercise wagon that I so unceramoniously fell off a few years ago. A quick tidbit about atkins: My mom was on it for several years. It worked great for her, she lost weight and felt great, mostly because the atkins diet almost completely eradicates breads, which she is really allergic to. However, after a few years, the sodium began to get to her, and her legs swelled up like balloons. So if you're planning on going back to atkins, make sure to watch your sodium intake! ^^,
