Sport I need help bad -someone rescue me

Sport Fitness
hello all -I am trying to find myself a good diet to follow for weight loss. I am 32 years old. 5'4-5'5 170 lbs. I am a size 12 I need to drop to a size 8. meaning 140 -145lbs. I have started working out 3 days ago and been doing very well. treadmill, weights, areobic class. I been working out every day. I pretty much work on my whole body at one time every day. 20 min treadmill-10 min bike-3 sets of 10 arms, legs, buns, abs. I know that a strict diet plays a serious role in your fitness. for the past 3 days I have been eating:

Breakfast---1 cup coffee light 1 sugar- 1 cinimmon raisin bagel with butter

Lunch : Soup -crackers-1 can red bull

Beverage before workout: Red Bull

THEN WORK OUT

Dinner: 1 can tuna- small spoon of mayo-1 cup 2% fat free milk with half spoon of nestle to kill the milk taste.. and crackers

LAte nite snack if I catch a crave: 1 bowl of Special k-1 packate sweet n low-with 2% fat free milk.

So if this is not good please some one smack my hand -say no no bad girl and guide me in the right direction.

I didn't add up your calories, but you seem a bit low.

You need to eat 2260 calories per day to maintain 170, so eating 1400 will net you a 2 lb a week loss.

Try going to this website . Its a site that keeps track of your calories for you. Plug in your food, see if its equaling 1400. Try to keep everything above that.

I will say your food choices are great, however, make sure you're eating enough calories :)

oh and by the way, welcome to the board ;)

ok --I am currently 170 --im not trying to stay 170 im trying to drop to 140 -------so how do I count my cals. Im new to the whole counting Cal thing-lol

FOX

If you eat 2260 a day, you will maintain your weight. By creating a caloric deficit (eating under 2260) you will lose weight. at 1400 you will have safe weight loss, I recommend eating 1400 calories a day.

Ok great will do it that way -THank u so much

Im sure Ill figure it out.

6 oz serving of meat (steak, chicken), medium baked potato, salad with lite italian dressing, corn/green beans/peas, maybe a couple pieces of wheat bread will get you where you wanna be for the day.

OMG!! This plan is a recipe for weight and fat gain.........long term. All this will do is trigger fat storage once you are done starving yourself.

I did this kind of plan for years and all I did was get sick and my weight yo-yoed. The nutrition needs to be well rounded and adequate enough to survive!

I sent u a PM -im unsure if it went thru---
Im new to this site

1st of all, I gave her a quick meal plan to get her to 1400 calories for the day, off the top of my head.

secondly, I've been giving the same advice, advice I've researched for years, to everyone who has asked. 99 percent of the people on here have always agreed with me, you say its a recipe for disaster. Hmm maybe I'm wrong, but I've lost 50 lbs and left it off for a year, I doubt I am.

The only way you Yo-yo is if you go back to old eating habits. Weight loss is dependant on caloric deficit. Thats all, nothing else. At 1400 calories a day she won't enter starvation mode.

I think your post was melodramatic and just plain not true. I haven't seen you giving any fitness advice around here, just pushing your doctors website.

I apologize if I sound combative here, but I KNOW it works, and the regulars around here will tell you I know what I'm talking about. If I didn't I wouldn't have been around as long as I have been.

yeah i agree with u aevens410 you give great advice in all your other posts and i dont really c nefink wrong with this one aswell :)
keep up the good work !!!

why thank you Megan, I appreciate that ;)

I don't see anything unbalanced in aevans meal suggestion, probably much more healthier than what I eat ;)

Seems with that you would have a fine, balanced diet. Just try not to fluctuate too much and go back to old eating habits.

I know someone who must have lost about 60-80 pounds if not more over a 2 month summer break. All he ate was riveata and a very thin milkshake. This is certainly not recommended..he looks very pale and unhealthy. Whatever you do, just try not to go that far

Allen:

I wasn't saying your plan was a recipe for disaster. The original post was. I never got down to your answer before I posted. Your's sounded fine....and a great place to start.

Red bull isn't a healthy drink. Yes, it gives you energy - I used to drink it as a student when I hadn't slept. Its temporary energy and empty calories. It has about 1million calories per gram too.

Bascially, you aren't eating enough calories. less than 400 in one day is dangerous and will make you fat! So, the good news is, you get to eat more....1400 a day and you will lose weight safely.

Good luck

What's working for me

I recently took a women & weights seminar, I thought I had a good balanced diet until I started eating the way the instructor recommended. I lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks by eating 6 times a day which turned out to be more food more often than I was before. I limit my calories to 1500 per day and each of the 6 times I eat I aim for 26 grams of protein, 26 grams of carbs and 5 grams of fat. This is a lot of protein, but I work out hard and it seems to be effective for me.

hello ppl thats the way to do it . i hope every woman on here reads this. to all those i have pm'd there it is :) it works.
