Sport I need energy

Sport Fitness
Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and I've got a problem! I am always tired at the end of my work day ( computer programmer ), It's not like I do any work that is physically demanding. I am wondering what can I do to get more energy? I totally stopped drinking coffee in the mornings. I do take vitamins ( Centrum ) . I am a young individual also. I used to be in pretty good shape but now I am just depressed about what is happening to my health on a daily basis . I figure if I can get an extra boost to help me workout at the end of the day that would be a great start. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

what exactly is the problem are tired after your workout or are you tired when performing day to day activities

sorry i misread your post

any way you are probably sitting around the whole day as a computer programmer
thats probably causing the fatigue

try taking some breaks between work, try stretching your muscles from time to time
it is quite energising!

Yep, or you can just workout in the morning.

If not, then it sounds like your attitude has an effect on your energy already...the more depressed you get about it, the less energy you feel like you have.

Try to work with your diet more, and don't dwell on the issue. Good luck.

I used to be in a similar situation, I too have a job where I pretty much sit on my butt all day long! It took a lifestyle change to sort the problem out....regular excercise, quit smoking, almost quit alcohol, better diet, drink LOADS of water. It was a struggle at first, I had to force myself to the gym (due to low energy levels) but, now I usually have more energy than I know what to do with!

Not sure what your situation is (ie. are you excercising already?) but, I strongly recommend you go to the gym and do what you can, it'll definitly help.

Good luck

I have similar issues. As a matter of fact I made a post in the supplements forum with the same exact title in early February.

Exercise is probably the best solution. You really do have to force yourself to get started. I promise you will see an increase in energy. I know because I am living it. Being lazy will zap your energy. exercise will give you an almost immidiate boost. I had been working out 4 days a week and getting motivated was getting easy. Last week i skipped a coupld of day to watch march Madness and today even though I skipped sunday and last thirsday I am making excuses to skip today. I have also been more sluggish at work and around the house with my kids not to mention it has been too easy to make poor decisions on what I am eating. My conclusion.....

Well this thread was the motivation I need. I have to change my clothes and get ready for the gym.

to giv yourself some start up you could possibly workout on the week-end

thats what i used to do when i was undergoing my summer job training
it was really tiring to workout after long hours of work
