I need advice on losing my belly fat!

I weigh 132, and have a healthy BMI. I lost 12 pounds but my belly still has fat. I had my son 10 months ago, so a lot of it is due to that. I can't tell I've lost weight. My boyfriend can, but I think my stomach is getting in the way of me feeling accomplished anywhere!

Calorie Intake: 1500/day
Exercise: 30 minutes hula hooping 6x a week, walk 20 minutes 4x a week, bike or treadmill 2x a week, weight training 2x a week, yoga 3x a week, jump rope 2x a week.
Basically, I exercise 60 minutes-120 minutes a day. I do exercises that target the whole body. I know you can't really "spot reduce." I work all the spots but everything except my stomach is improving.

I feel more toned but my stomach...ugh!

I posted this somewhere else today but I'll copy it here too.

Perhaps your genetics make it so that fat goes to your belly first as you gain weight. Which means fat will leave your belly last as you lose weight. This is how it works --> Where ever fat goes first is where it will leave last. This could possibly be the reason you aren't seeing a major change in your belly yet.

Just keep working on your cardio. Don't over do it though.

My response to you is: “Be patient.” Your workout and eating regimen is solid. You are on the right track. Know that having a child can change the “response” of how your hormones normally respond to stress. This includes exercise stress. The hormone responsible for sending a message to the stored fat in our bodies to enter the bloodstream to be utilized for fuel (called epinephrine), has been shown to respond “slower” in some women after childbirth.

You’ve lost ten pounds. Thus your body is responding. Yet know that there are two types of fat: visceral and subcutaneous. Visceral is the fat that surrounds the organs. Subcutaneous is the fat underneath our skin. The visible fat by which we have the pinch test performed to take our body composition.

A recent study I read show women tend to lose subcutaneous fat first and the visceral afterwards. Men are the opposite. What does belly fat consist more of? You guessed it – visceral. In no way am I dogmatic in this study. For humans are fluid and may vary from person to person. This was just a study I accept as a “guideline” only.

This why I said be patient. You are maximizing your fitness no matter what your outcome will be. I’m very encouraged to see so great a commitment.

I was hitting 200 pounds when I realized to reduce weight. My blood works and cholesterol levels came normal but my blood pressure was elevated. I was prescribed medicine for BP but I was skeptical to start the dosages for BP. I learnt yoga from a guru and started practicing Surya Namaskar & Kapalbathi. I also started a brisk walking regimen. All these made me shed 25pounds in 3 weeks. I need to reduce 20 more pounds to reach my BMI but am really confident that I can reduce that with determination.
