I'm looking into compact, pretty digital cameras that also can take great quality pictures. Ideas?

I have a Samsung L210. 10.2 Megapixel, nice picture quality and all the features you need (and some you probably won't). Slimline design and it comes in all sorts of colours....I've got a red one, but I think it comes in blue, silver and green as well. And the price was okay as well (about $ 150).

$150! That's pretty cool. I'll look into that!
Right now I'm in love with the Nikon Coolpix, but it's $300 and I don't think I can afford that. ;(

I have the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T200. It's 8+ MP and is a touch screen! I love it and the photos are always vibrant. I actually bought it at a Sony Factory (Outlet) Store. If you have any electronics factory stores around you, I would check those out. They have brand new cameras that are turnovers from the retail store - so there's nothing wrong with it. It's just WAYYY cheaper! :) Good luck!

check out overstock.com - they tend to have really good deals on electronics...

One feature i'd definitely look for is a rechargable battery or lithium battery - if it takes a AA battery, run away..

I second that. The first camera I had took AA's, and it was a total pain. Only the really expensive ones worked at all, and even those ran out after about 10 pics if you used the flash.

The Samsung one has a rechargeable - I charged it once, and have taken over 500 pics so far, plus quite a lot of video clips, and it's only down about a third of the battery life. So, rechargeable/lithium is definitely a must if you use it a lot!

Heh... I third that. My husband bought the Olympus SP-350 because he thought it would be a good thing to have one that took AA's... boy did he learn the hard way.

Its not cheap (about $230 on amazon.com), but I've heard good things about the Olympus 1050SW from some of my coworkers. Olympus sent us one for the gift guide in the December issue of the magazine, and the art director liked it so much she ended up sending them money to purchase it. Couple other coworkers ended up buying one too.

I'd also look in to the Canon Powershot cameras too.

The Canon Powershot has great reviews, but it looks too hefty for me. =/

I ended up choosing the Casio Exilim Z150 in red. My previous camera was a Casio Exilim, and I ordered a Z9 before but was horrified by it and returned it straight away (grainy pictures and impossible buttons.)

Hopefully my new camera satisfies me as my first did... =)
