I made a comic strip

Remember, it's bad to put pressure on any part of the human structure. Not being able to handle pressure anywhere, specially the lower back and knees, is why we have survived thousands of years of evolution.

In relation to another post I made in a thread here somewhere.

The comic is pretty funny but what I found funnier was the image of you in a rage at your computer making a comic using stickmen

True Story: I've been doing squats and lunges only for some time now. I got lazy a few weeks ago so when I started back again I decided to do leg extensions and other machine exercises to 'ease' into it...I did squats and lunges again this week and my knees were hurting:mad: I'm attributing this to the leg extension machine...not to old age lol

Moral of my story: Don't do leg extensions...

Is it just me, or I never heard of these complaints? I do notice that the leg areas (i.e. squat rack, etc) are usually empty in my gym. Perhaps everyone is worried about pressure on the knee?

It's very strange that everyone seems to think that machines are the way to go. At least the general population does. When I started my weight training class this year, I made a specific point to the teacher that I wanted to do as many non-machine exercises as possible. I asked him if he knew of any lower body stuff I could do that didn't involve the use of the machines. The only thing he suggested was squats. He said I would have to do the rest on machines. Then I got NROL and I realized that there are tons of lower body exercises that can be done without a machine. I'll have to show him my workout and see what he thinks of it.

I'm basically using free weights for all of my exercises except the seated cable row. I also use this thing that helps with pull-ups and dips. It takes a bit of body weight off so you can do them more easily.

Apparently your hips, legs, and knees are just fine Karky. Look at that POWER!

I say if your back and knees are healthy and strong, fine, go for the squats.

But I've had a lot of problems with my knees (one in particular) and I can say that for me leg extensions are infinitely more comfortable on them.

If I squat I occasionally get so much pain in my right knee it is almost difficult to walk for days, that never happens with leg extensions...and yes, I know proper form

Awesome stuff! When's hte next piece coming out?

I don't know, the next time I feel the need to rant about something I suppose :p
