I have hit a wall in my 2nd week of working out

In just 2 weeks i have lost 14 pounds, i was 188 pounds 2 weeks ago and now im 174 pounds, im 5'4 by the way and im a boy.

Umm, so i have been eating right but i keep having problems on finding out different ways to get a good, long workout on my treadmill. I can run on my treadmill at a speed of 6.0 mph for 15 minutes straight but i would be pretty fatigued after that.

I kinda wanna bump my working out up and make sure that when im done im sweating so much i need to take a shower right away. For some reason this week when i have ran i start to feel a stomach cramp on the way in like the 8th minute of running. Its weird but i wanna keep going and start working out for at least 45 minutes, Can i do it? Yes i can but i cant last more then 15 minutes straight at a speed of 6 mph.

What do ya think? Im seeing progress but i dont know what to do, should i forget about how much minutes i run and what distance, or should i run how ever my body feels and see how long i can last?

What makes you think you have lost 14lbs.

Running at 6 for 15mins even 3 time a day wouldnt give you that much weight loss.

It took me 6weeks to loose 14lbs, I was working with a personal trainer 5days a week and had a near perfect diet.

Oh , so you didnt loose 14lbs of fat then. you lost about 11lbs of water, 1lbs of muscle and 2lbs of fat.

I can think of better ways to put 2 weeks to use. Any you wouldnt even be hungry

Since i lost 11lbs that means i lost lots of fat. Well its worked and im not feeling nothing weird, its hard to not being able to go down stairs and eat a sandwich for a snack or some cookies but its working. I look much slimmer now and its worked.

Ya might say its unhealthy but hey it worked. Its not a healthy way to diet but im as confident as ever now.

No - you lost about 11lbs of WATER, water is not fat its water. Water water water.

you only lost about 2lbs of fat ,which is the same is if you ate correctly.

The problem is it wont last. No one here is gonna give you a hard time, but really, you need to be more healthy about your approach. What you've done is killed your metabolism big time - you wont be able to keep up this poor diet, and you'll bounce back to being far worse then you were before.

A better approach is to find out how many calories you need per day to maintain your weight, then work on a caloric deficeit of 500 or so calories per day using a combination of exercize and diet. The fact is that you'll never run 45 minutes on the diet you're on - nor should you even try.

Hey Chris.d - I watched a program about wellington a couple of days ago. very interesting, looks like a cool place to live. Apart from that massive Volcano!

*slowly shakes head* Starving yourself is wrong. Straight up. Not only does it kill your metabolism, it's extremely unhealthy for other parts of your body. Your body needs certain things for you to grow and live. Only eating those 2 groups at a small amount is taking away from that.

You make look healthy, but your body is made up of apx. 60% water. All you did was lose some of that. You need to get it back, which means your going to put on weight. Like MoK said, if you ate correctly and worked out regularly, you would have lost the same amount of fat, and would have been MUCH healthier.

Like Chris D. said...if you want to be healthy and still drop weight - find out how many calories needed to maintain your weight, and drop that amount by 20-25%. Also you need to workout regularly. You will not only feel good about the way you look, but you will feel amazing, because you'll be so healthy!

Best of luck, and remember...starving yourself isn't the right way to go about weight loss.

Update, im currently 171 pounds and i am like as confident as ever. I pretty much figured it out, i just run 2 miles on my treadmill without any resting, for those of you tryna burn some fat just do long distance.

I have rapidly lost weight, my face is thinner, it looks different, today i was walking home pulling up my pants cause i lost so much fat around my waist and butt, lol.

That sounds crazy, but i look so different now, i cant believe the effects, i went from 188 to 171 in 1 month and im not gonna stop. Im gonna continue till i get to 151 which is my average weight, since im 5'4 and 17 years old.

Good. I hope you're eating properly now, too - if you're not, then expect to gain back every pound and then some within a few months. I've been there, at your exact age as it happens. I managed to keep up the starvation thing for about 3 months - right over summer. I was skinnier than I'd ever been (always a fat kid) and my confidence was through the roof. Then, before I knew it, I'd gained back every kilo I'd lost, and became fatter than I'd ever been. And I stayed that way for 4 years, until now, when I've decided to do something about it the RIGHT way.

silk...

I was 264 a few years back... and when I just stopped eating massive amounts of food every day... and cut back my portions... I lost a bunch in the first 2 weeks also... I figure at that time I was carrying 2-3 days of food in me all the time... and I was eating alot... when I stopped eating so much I quickly went from 264 down to the 240's... but I figure a good 10 pounds of that was lost in the toilet... on top of that I know I shed some water weight because I lost all the swelling around my ankles...

be excited you got off to a good start... Aim to loose 1 pound a week and no more than 2 lbs in a week. Trust me... if you loose more than that your metabolism will shut down... and you will get stuck at a given weight... check out ... and aim for a 500-1000 cal deficit....

I tend to agree with the others that most of that was water... But that being said fat cells are mostly water so you would look visible thinner...

Keep us updated!

Easy there dewy... 14 in 2 weeks... at the begining is nothing to be alarmed about... really. I ate 2000-2500 cals a day and lost about 14 lbs in my first 2 week going from 264 down to 250 in about 2.5 weeks...

Alot of that was water and feces... as long as he realizes that... he will be fine... just start doing the fitday.com thing and make sure you are not at a +1000 cal deficit... and you will be fine...
