I have another story.. hhaha.
So on Wednesday I called down to the help desk at college to see if the weight room would be open on Friday. I usually go to the wellness center, but I knew they were closing on Thursday, so I wanted to see if I could work at the “real” weight room. It’s just another weight room with more equipment (****tier though, and older, bent bars etc.). Anyway, the help desk directed me to someone at the Nemzak hall(which is the real weight room). I asked if the weight room was open this Friday and he said, “yes, 8-6”. So hell yeah! I had everything planned out, I was going to do lower body Thursday, and then do the upper body Friday at the Nemzak weight room.
So I get to the Nemzak weight room today and the roads were blocked. I was like “hmmmmmm this aint a good sign”
So I asked one of the security cars driving around what’s going on, and he said that it was graduation day. Whatever, I thought, they told me it would be open Wednesday so I ran into the Nemzak hall.
I get to the hallway of the weight room and it’s freaking blocked off with a rope. Then I was going to just go past it and some old guys were sitting there and said “I don’t think your gonna be able to work out!”
And I say, “I just called in the other day and they said it was open today”
And he replies “Nah….. the whole place is reserved for graduation day”
I said “even the weight room?!?”
And he said “YUP!”
I wanted to be like “WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO GRADUATE IN A WEIGHT ROOM! NOBODY IS GOING TO GO IN THERE ALL DAY DAMNIT!”
So for some reason I couldn’t work out because they wanted the whole place evacuated…
They were graduating in the big ass gym area, not the weight room, and they are far away from eachother…… bah!
So I was like “!!!!!! What about my muscle building capacity in my upper body! What am I going to do!”
I had to work it somehow! Ya know?! I wish they would have just told me it was closed when I called in on Wednesday, then I just would have done a full body workout Thursday.
Heh, so I get home and I look around for the heaviest but easiest thing to grip to use for triceps, biceps, forearms, and shoulders…
Well I knew my big ass advanced accounting book would be 1. And then another thing I used was some laundry detergent. It had a handle and everything.. haha. And it just so happened that they both weighed the same amount……..
So today was a high volume training day.. I started off with doing pushups for the chest, did about 40, then I went into bicep curls. They both only weighed like 5-7 pounds or something, but after about 200 reps I got pretty worked! Haha.
I did some more pushups… Then I needed to work out my forearms.. what could I use for that? Hah, I had a fire extinguisher in my closet .. man, doing reserve wrist curls and wrist curls with that thing burned like hell! Probably because it was so wide it took a lot to just keep it in my grip. Then I did some triceps and shoulders, abs, and I was done. It took me over an hour because I had to do so many reps and sets to feel anything.
So, instead of lifting real weights today I was pumping an accounting book, laundry detergent and a fire extinguisher. Sweet huh?
