Upright Rows and Shrugs, yeah, pretty much.

Also, relax, man. Unless you look like Treebeard, odds are nobody even notices or cares. :)

lol nobody cares but yes there are specific exercises to work out the neck. lay on a bench with your head hanging off, get friend to press slightly down on your forehead and lift your head and try to touch your chin to your chest. You should be able to find some more online.

On a more serious note, if you want to build your neck a bit, there are a lot of exercises (google it) and someone having a long and muscular neck looks a lot better than someone with just a long neck IMO

I have a short neck. As a female, I'd love to have some of your neck. Let's swap!

You'll love my neck. It's barely 3" long from my trap to my earlobe. It will look fantastic on your body, I just know it!

Damn gymnastics anyway ...

EDIT: Just measured it. Distance from my earlobe to my trap is only 2". And to qualify this, I will state that I have normal earlobes ... not those stretched thingys with humungous holes in them that some people think are attractive ...

Distance from earlobe to collarbone is 4.5". I'm not sure I even have a neck ... :(

I'm a no-neck.

One thing I found htat helps is tie a weight to a rope.

You want to make it look like a giant bling necklace. You put the loop in your mouth, bite down and support the weight with your neck. With it still in your mouth left your head up and down slowly.

Hey. Like the mentioned exercise above, using your neck over hanging on a bench with a friend; back extensions are good are for you as well. This is because you will should feel the burn right up through your traps and up into the base of your neck, if you do enough (with good posture).

Speaking of posture, if the biggest thing you are worried about are the aesthetics of the way a long looks, good posture will do wonders even for the longest of necks. So, make sure you don't have what is called "forward head posture". Look it up. If you do, there are many exercises available online to correct this type of bad posture.

Be careful of any weighted exercises for your neck. If you start to have any head aches, stop, hydrate and take it slowly for the rest of your sets.

At the end of the day the hardest thing with these exercises are keeping to them, they might not be as glamorous as bicep curls but **** what it looks like and you'll be better for it in the long run.

have a good one champ.

Ha Ha - Yeah I have a long neck as well! Apart from what everyone else mentioned having a strong back will hold your shoulders in good position and stop you slouching which visually elongates the length of your neck.

I have seen guys use a cable tricep pulldown machine with a loop attachment that they put around their forehead and use a light weight to pull forward with the head while they brace their feet on the ground. I haven't tried the exercise myself. I kind of still want to fit into a standard shirt collar size!
