Yes.... these so called "celebrities" that have reality shows because there were sex tapes made with them........
I just can't understand why anyone would be interested in these high dollar whores. And I really can't understand why anyone would continue to give them money! (by watching their shows and / or buying products under their names)

I hear ya Monster..Kendra just had another new lesbian sex tape "leaked". It sounds totally staged to me...even by the description of how it came about....supposidly her hubby introduces her to some friend and they go at it...yea right! Guess she needs more money now that she's not living off Heff. anymore
 
Judging by the fact that I've never heard of any celebrity doing a sex tape and have no idea who Kendra or Kardashian are...I'm pretty out of the loop. Which is bloody awesome!

Kendra was a playboy bunny - one of Huge Huffner's girlfriends! They had their own reality show following them around! That's her claim to fame. A sex tape of hers came out when she got married! But I mean, really...who hasn't seen it?

The Kardashian's are pompous rich people! Their father was OJ's lawyer! Kim, one of the sisters was a model, and had a sex tape come out! Since they, the family got their own reality show, and the sisters have had spin offs!

It's horrible trashy tv.....but....I enjoy it...just like I enjoy the Jersey Shore!! NO JUDGING!!!!!!!! hehehehe

I mean... REALLY? She was sliding into media nothingness until her sex tape came out.
I'm not sure what she was trying to accomplish, but she accomplished something.

You have to see it from the other side too. It's not always a case of "they're celebrities and have TV shows because people are fascinated by them" - sometimes, it's the opposite. Sometimes, people are fascinated by them because they're on TV, which instantly makes them a celebrity.

Honestly? I don't think many people really give a shit about Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, the girls from The Hills or the stale douche solutions from Jersey Shore - there's just nothing else on TV because the television stations force it down our throats.

I mean, everybody I know is sick of American Idol and constantly bitches about 'Why is it still on TV?!?!?!" But, guess what? Those same people still watch it...because it's all that's on.
 
I have to disagree Chef. Networks shut down perfectly good TV series all the time. People don't just watch because there's nothing else on. They watch because they choose to. I'm sure some people watch out of boredom, but I just can't believe that it's enough to keep the shows on the air.
 
I fall asleep at night worrying about snookie...I don't know what you're talking about Chef!

Yeah, they shut down perfectly good TV series all the time because nobody watches. A lot of shows that get canceled are just put into terrible time slots that have way too much hardcore competition. But, shows like American Idol and all of those reality shows stay on the air because they don't have any competition at their time slots.

Look at the NFL Pro Bowl from last night, for example. 12 MILLION people watched the Pro Bowl. Not because the Pro Bowl is good. Not because the Pro Bowl is something people look forward to. Not even because the Pro Bowl is something that people want to watch. But, because nothing else was on. It was on at 7PM on a Sunday night. What other show was there to compete? Nothing. So, people just tune in to the best of the choices. Last night, that choice was the Pro Bowl. Now, if the Pro Bowl aired tonight, when it would have to compete against House, Two and a Half Men and WWE Monday Night Raw, I can guarantee you that 12 Million people wouldn't be watching it...not even close.

Viewers don't choose what TV shows are aired. They only get to choose what they watch from the selection of what is being shown. Look at the TV schedule and look at the highest rated shows. Most of them are highly rated because they don't have any competition.
 
I'm guilty as well. I love watching the Kardashians! Jersey Shore... not so much.
There's just something about the K girls that I love to watch. Maybe it's the drama but they are pretty damn entertaining!
 
On a side note, I get very frustrated when I get into a new tv show and it gets cancelled! It happens every year. Apparently I'm with the minority of people who watch shows like "The Forgotten" or "The Black Donnelys"(this one was a while ago). Admittedly they aren't the best shows in the world but they were better than some of the other crap out there.
