My problem. In the morning and all day I do fine on the eating part. 6 eight oz glasses of water. salad for lunch. good dinner, low carbs...now here it comes. For some reason I crave sweets and carbs, ice cream all the good stuff we aren't suppose to be eating. It drives me nuts...and yea I cheat sometimes. I have even just left the house and started walking for a few hours or took off on the Harley and still when I get back I crave it even more. Why would this not bother me all day and only at night. I feel like craming paper in my month so nuthin won't go in there:eek: ...what have y'all been doing to fight this.I know some might not have this at night time but what are y'all doing to keep your mind off of the sweet-tees..Mike

I get that. I just have a peach, they're super sweet right now. Or make myself a low cal shake with skim milk and whatever fruit I have laying around.

I have been really lucky - I keep hearing about all of these cravings - but except for the er.... occasional craving for booze ... I don't really get them. I eat plenty of good carbs - mainly earlier in the day. If I need something sweet, then I always have plenty of fresh fruit - also dried fruit, honey, low fat yoghurt - sometimes even some organic dark chocolate. I have honey with my porridge most days.

Its not that I dont cheat, or sometimes fall from grace - I do! But this ice cream craving thing sounds awful! I would try keeping some healthy sweet substitutes. Now I love yoghurt - I buy it in big tubs - low fat, organic, bio yoghurt (or yogurt for some here) - I chuck grapes, banana, or mixed nuts and seeds in it, or scrape out the tub on its own.

popscicles

I have discovered these awesome popscicles from Del Monte. They are called Real Fruit, and they come in three flavours that I have seen so far, Mango, Berry and Pomegranate. They are so amazingly full of flavour! It's hard to believe that they are only 46 calories each, 0 carbs, 0 fat! I find that I can only eat one of these, as they are fairly sweet. SO GOOD! I don't know if they are only available in Canada or not? Box says it's a product of Canada, but maybe the US would have something similar.
I know Oprah says she swears by these sugar free fudgescicles!?
Good luck buddy!

Ok this is what me and my hubby do. We make a chocolate protein smoothie. It takes exactly like real chocolate and the texture is exactly like a shake.

Ok, here's the recipe.

1 Scoop of GNC Pro Performance Chocolate Whey Powder (you can get a giant container for $26 bucks.)

1/4 Cup Ice
1/4 Cup Milk
Tablespoon or so of Splenda
1 Container of LowFat Yogurt

Now my husband doesn't really measure when he makes this, so although the ingredients are correct, you might have to go on taste for the milk, ice, and splenda.

Just blend it all up in a blend for about 30 seconds and now you have a yummy shake! Hubby put strawberries in mine the other day...double yum!

I get that at night them same way and just as bad. Ill just grab some fruit or something and its seems to calm it down enough to get by so i can get to bed.

I use my Harley for therapy too!

I have a massive sweet tooth and it has been the hardest hurdle for me on this diet. I found that Sweet&low has sugar free candies in the diabetic section of the drug store, they are only 6 calories each and they have been a life saver for those times when I just HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING SWEET!

Another treat for myself, if I have been good, is a saltine with some real fruit preserves on it. Just one, but that is usually enough to hold me for a while.

It is rough, I would eat a couple of candy bars a day, or snack on chocolate covered raisins, chocolate covered pretzels etc ... Now it is sugar-free jello with fresh fruit cut up in in (1 cup with fruit is about 20 calories).

Hang in there, it does get better over time. After a month, the cravings have diminished a lot and it gets easier each day.... especialy when I watch the scale go steadily, if slowly, down.
