try jogging on the treadmill or outside on the track. it helps a lot. try to do cardio exercises such as jump roping or swimming. or, you could do some workouts to help tone up your legs. go to >> health and wellness. pick one of the workout links (how to, pilates, yoga) on the left hand coloumn. hope it helps!

I just learned a new way to maximize the muscles in the thighs while walking called NBT (no big toe) Sounds kinda weird but wow, what a difference in helping to slim the thighs and hips!

I learned it from a program my doctor referred me to called T-Tapp More which contains 4 rehabilitative workouts and the one called "Step Away the Inches Walking Workout" (kinda like Walk Away the Pounds but much more aerobic and really works out the upper body too but without weights)

Anyway, you can apply this NBT technique in your daily walking or while on treadmill or even while walking up stairs. Just keep toes forward (don't walk like a duck with feet turned out) and while walking don't put pressure on your big ball joint behind the big toe. Push off each step using your last two or three toes. Also keep your shoulders back in alignment with the hips and tuck butt till you feel your tummy tighten.

Feel the difference? yowza!

Thanks for the idea on the NBT workout. This sounds like it will work. I will try it when I go for my walk tonight.

have you used NBT yet?

Hey Maryfrog,

Have you tried NBT yet? Please let us know how you're doing. Today while walking I also concentrated on tightening my "lats" (upper back) while tucking till my tummy tightened....whew, increased the intensity in my butt and thighs for sure! Go figure how all this stuff works but T-Tapp rocks....IMO she's gonna change the fitness industry so we can discover how less can be more.

I just like feeling like I've getting my body back under control.

not by a lot ... calves are mostly genetic. By walking you mainly just increase their endurance. Hiking and biking will work much better, but there is a genetic limit to what you can do normally.
