I don't loose weight, even though I burn more than I eat

Hi there! :)

I hope to get some good advice.

I've been dieting, working out and generally living healthy for about 6-7 weeks now, but I only lost like max. 2 kg (4lb).

I work out about 6 times a week. I start by doing cardio (threadmill) for about half an hour at the most, by walking really fast and running in between. After that I'm doing weightlifting for almost an hour, sometimes more.
Generally, I also walk a lot during a day. I reach at least 10.000 steps every day.

I eat healthy and get between 1400-2000 calories in a day about (slightly different). But even though I think I burn a lot more than I eat, my weight does not go down.

I'm overweight and weight over 100 kg - so it shouldn't be that hard to loose some weight now.

Do you have any good advice to me?

I wonder if it is because my combustion has slowed down or what's wrong. It seems like my body's trying to hold on to the fat - but does the body give up on it at some point or?
Do I need to eat more protein, does that has something to do with it?

Looking forward to your answer :)

Sounds like you are over eating, but without the necessary information it is hard to tell.

What is your weight, age, bodyfat %

Don't assume your calorie burn is that which is shown on cardio machines at the gym, they always over estimate

Lifting is great, and boosts metabolism along with helping to make sure you do not loose muscle, but unless the lifting sessions are very intense they should not be counted for calorie burn.

Do your clothes feel any different? I'm on week 12, and the first few weeks didn't show much weight loss. Are you focusing on cutting down on the carbs? I'm no expert, but I cut way down on bread last year and felt so much better. I think that is why I am having some success this time around. I still do some fruit and some sweets. Low bread, no rice or pasta, no beer or soda. Occasional wine. :)

I'm 176 cm, I weight 101,3 kg (yay, my weight just dropped a little). I'm 23 years old.

I don't estimate from the cardio machines - I have an activity tracker smartwatch. Even though I have this, I don't trust the numbers completely - but one thing is sure - I don't eat more than I burn.

When I'm doing weightlifting, I'm doing it with high intensity - only very short breaks and with high weight.

I don't get much carbs - but I definitely both see and feel a change. I measure my body occasionally, and I've lost quite a lot centimeters, so its not because nothing is happening.. I just wish that the weight would follow :)

Understand!! I only lost 2 lbs the past 4 weeks... but hey, its a loss. And for you, it's inches. Let's take what we can get!! :)

Are you weighing your food? Are you using an app to track your calories? e.g. MyFitness pal? It's free in the app store.

Once I started weighing my food and tracking my calories I started to consistently lose weight. My problem was I was eating waaaay too little and forcing my body into starvation mode, in turn slowing down my metabolism and making weight loss next to impossible.

I also do intermittent fasting which helps me personally, basically skipping breakfast, this helps keep me in a caloric deficit :)

Yeah, it's better than nothing :-D actually, my weight finally dropped a bit. It seems like it just needed a push. :hurray:
Well done on the loss! :)
