I Don't Get It?!?!

I feel so discouraged lately and this past month I've only maintained my weight. I started the couch to 5k 3 days a week, between days I walk 1-2 miles or do 20-30 minutes on the elliptical and I do strength training 2x a week. For breakfast I normally have 1 serving of total whole grain cereal w/ skim milk and a half to sometimes whole banana. 100 calorie snack, lunch I usually have tuna with light mayo and whole wheat bread toasted sometimes with 2% cheese and celery or I eat a lean cuisine or drink a slim fast on rush rush days, for dinner I usually eat skinless/boneless chicken or fish (ie. salmon, herring) a side of veggies, medium sweet potatoe with splenda brown sugar and a tad of low fat butter sometimes I mix it up with whole grain rice. I do have my cheat days where I will go to Subway or have chinese but I don't over indulge. I don't get it. I drink tons of water... i MIGHT have a diet soda like once a week but thats rare! Since August I've lost 30lbs. but when I went to the Dr. the other day the scales read 10lbs. heavier then my at-home scale. I bought a new scale just to see and it read the same as the Dr.'s. I am 5'5 and started out at 230lb. I thought I was down to 196 but the Dr.'s scale is reading 206 :ack2:. I have been doing monthly meaurement and starting August 10th 07' to now Nov 16 07' I am down 9 inches in the waist. Is that good? Could this be a plateau or do I need to mix things up a bit? Please someone help me understand!

in 3 months you lost 30 lbs according to your original scale - that's great progress... every scale you step on will be different - if you stepped ony our doctors scale in august you were probably 10lbs heavier than your scale at home so you still lost those same pounds - doesn't really matter what the number is - they're gone...

and 9 inches is great...

I would keep track of your daily calories and other nutritients.. especially sodium - your diet seems to be very high in it -and that can - in some cases -lead to water retention.

Are you ona plateau? No... you're doing fine...

Do spend time reading the stickied theads in the forum though....

Agree^

There is no problem with your results, if anything they are a little fast. Have some patience and try and remember that steady wins the race.

Thanks for the responses. Just to clarify... I just gave birth to twins in June so some of that weightloss is from post babies. My pre-preggie weight was 230lb. so I am happy with my results but I don't understand why I am at a hault. I'd love to continue with a 1-2lb weight loss a week, so I am going to cut back on the sodium intake a bit and see what happens. If anyone has any other suggestions please fill me in! Off to read some stickies.....
