Hi.
My name is John and i am 5 days old. I am haveing trouble getting back to my birth wieght of 6lbs 9 oz. I want to do this right- not gain a bunch of fat with the weight so i need some advise.
My diet consists primarily of breastmilk. I tried to make an account on fitday to get the calories but i didnt get any accurate information. I am just worried I am not getting enough of what i need- should i take supplements?

you can see my before pictures here:

In all seriousness- to those who know me well and those who do not know me at all- this is my son- John Scott. He was born 12/27/08 at 11:53pm.
Mother and baby are doing great and ooutside of some sleep issues for my wife and i things are going well.
Just wanted to post this here since many of you have helped me through some tough times during this.

:D

LOL that was funny... congratulations on your new son! Oh and Happy New Year!

Not first here...drat :D its ok though...

Hi John!
You had better read the stickies around here...oh and talk to you dad too. He has done a great job with this whole weight-loss gig and can probably give you some great advice...

Welcome!

Welcome!

Mommy and me are not sure how Daddy lost his weight- seriously, he seems to lack disipline....
I dont want to loose anyway- I need to gain right. I am looking for a lean, toned look. Maybe low wieght, high reps? Can someone help me out and figure my BMR?

I will read the stickies though- thank you for the advise ali. :)

John,

relax, its ok. Your diet is just what you need right now, and it will help you grow into a strong boy. All that fat will go away as you become more active, and you will grow into it.

Have you read the stickies? :biggrinjester:

Seriously... congratulations on the new addition to your family.

Hey, John. Nice to make your acquaintance. You are right in not following your dad's lead. He tends to worry too much on the little things (and now you are one of those little things that he worries about:D)

Keep up with the breast milk. That colostrum is worth all the calories. Much better then being one of those svelte 5 oz supermodel five day olds. They were probably induced early to keep the weight down. Keep healthy, kid. :seeya:

Brian, great job. See, you are capable of great things. (Sure Erin helped with this one, but you have some other great things that you did on your own.)

:cheers2:

Haha, congratulations, man. Glad to hear everyone's happy and healthy.

But I bet ya that'll be the next t.v. sensation, Biggest Loser Babies :D

No walking or talking yet.
He is already picking up his head and rolling onto his side though.

Little things i never thought I would be proud of. :)

if he can pick his head up time to hit the gym - he can kick all the other babies in the diapers...
