Sport I can't eat any more!!

Sport Fitness
OK, Maybe some of you think you wish you had this problem and I should stop whining, but I have been eating 3700 calories a day and I lost 2 lbs this week. I'm desperately trying to stop the weight loss now so I don't waste away.

I know I can maintain/ bulk by eating crap, but I want to eat clean, healthy food. I'm getting close to the point where I don't think I can physically eat much more. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you overcome it?

cottage cheese

cottage cheese

hhhmmm....

Maybe a good idea, but that stuff disgusts me...looks like baby vomit. :) Come to think of it though, I may have never tasted it. I'll try it.

I've been making an enormous pot of brown rice every couple days and eating 2-3 cups at a time between meals. That is helping bump up the calories some

the credit for that one goes to EVO. read all the different labels and get the high protein, good fat ratio.

one of two ways is best for me soo far. Sweet (raisens, pineapple, even watermelon is good) or with lots of pepper.

p.s not good before a workout, or directly adfter. When your core temp is real high it can come back to haunt you. Great before bed.

your going to want to eat as caloric dense foods las you can like whole milk, whole cottagte cheese(5%?), tons of nuts and natural peanutbutter, and liquid calories

iv told a couple other members this before:
use your blender!!!
2 banannas, 4tbs peanut butter, 2 cups whole milk, 1 scoop whey protein
equals around 1000 calories and it goes down fast and easy compared to whole foods because you can just down it. add water if desired.

cottage cheese is good for you, but its not very caloric dense. go for a lob of PB, and good fats from nuts

ProteinBoy has got it right, shouldn't be difficult to go over 3700 calories..i could do it easily i think. At the end of the day if your still below 3700 eat a whole bunch of peanut butter raw

I wish i had your problem.
Consider yourself lucky...

The problem with whole milk etc is that it is high in saturated fat. I'm trying to keep that low and have a balanced diet, not just a ton of fat etc. Believe me, if I ate whatever I wanted I could probably eat over 5000 calories (I know this because I used to)

On milk, simply use skim milk and add a few tablespoons of skim milk powder to it for added protein and calories.

Beyond that, replace some of your water consumption with 100% juice, and dried fruit for ' low -fat ' snacks etc. etc. to boost calories ..if you think your deficit is too high

I really don't need high protein foods either. When you eat that many calories the protein grams add up easily. I don't even think about trying to eat a lot of protein and I get well over 200 grams

Well then if your goals are to boost calories, to keep fat to a minimum and keep added protein intake is kept to a minimum - then turn to bumping up your intake of juices, add healthy fats where you can ( i.e. lots of good dressings on salads ) , eat more unrefined carbs ( i,e whole grains ) and fruits, pick higher calorie cereals ( if you eat them ), opt for healthy desserts more often ( i.e frozen yogurt or low-fat ice cream ) and simply opt for high calorie ( dense ) snacks more often

lol...adding sugar to it is a bad idea. refined sugar is not your friend.

and dude-even if you use skim milk in that shake, its still around 900 calories. whats the problem here?
i eat 2800 calories a day easily(im sure any man can...its my MT), and if i just drank that shake before i went to bed, thats around 3700 calories without even trying hard to eat big.
you have to work hard in the kitchen too...

Yeah, I'm not big on the sugar...even in juice, although I'll eat the whole fruit

My calculations show your shake with 1% milk as about 801 calories and not too bad. (it does have 8 grams of sat fat though)

also...I didn't say I have a problem eating the 3700, my point is that eating that last week I lost 2 lbs. Theoretically, that means I would have to eat 4700 just to maintain. 5200 to bulk 1 lb a week. Now tell me that's easy.

Go with orange juice as an example - just make sure 100% juice ( no sugar added )....lots of carbs !

As I said before, you've only really got 4 choices.....

- do nothing and keep losing weight ( I assume it's fat )
- eat as you now do and cut back on your training a lot
- bump your calories a lot and maintain your training
- bump your calories a bit and cut back on your training a bit

......simply choose the one that works best for you.

I like putting hot sauce on my cottage cheese now and again. The cold temp of the cottage cheese and the hot taste from the sauce makes for an interesting combination on my palate.

Thanks, more peanut butter and brown rice have worked nicely. I'm going to try 4200 cals and cut my cardio down to 3 30 minute sessions per week
