I cannot stop eating and thinking about food

if you're hungry - eat something - starving yourself isn't an effective method of weight loss..

what is your normal food day like?

I eat so much...I cannot stop eating...nothing makes me full....It is crazy.

Like today I ate Yogart and fruit for breakfast, a boiled egg for a snack, then a huge tuna sandwich for lunch with chips and a drink and I am still HUNGRY...

What should I do???

from what you described above, it doens't seem like a lot -

how much weight are you trying to lose - what's your current weight and what's your goal weight - as well as how tall are you?

Try using a site like to record your calories so you can see what you are really taking in.

Yeah-doesnt sound like youre getting as many calories as you think...

just a tip though...I also feel the need to snack, and sometimes confuse that w/ hunger...I've found that if I sip green tea (I dont like it hot, so I get the cold bottled kind w/out sugar so its 0 calorie) between meals I feel full :)

for breakfast, you might want o add something wiwth some fiber in it - to help keep yu full longer as well as some protein at each meal... and eating slowly will give your brain time to register tht it's had enough.

I am 5'4 and 190 lbs....i used to weigh 230lb...now I am 190, but am a size 10, so I look more like 160 or something. I do Martial arts so I am very muscular. But I want to loose about 20-30 more lbs to get down to a size 6.....

i feel like I eat so much and I am always wanting to eat....I just ate a handful of NUTS and two chocolate kisses...I cannot stop....

Seriously, what should I do?

a handful of nuts is only about 150 calories and 2 kisses are only 50 calories (i'm so ashamed of myself that I know that info) that's 200 calories - that's perfectly acceptable for a snack.

Stop worrring about it and if you're hungry have something... watch your portion sizes and you're fine...

Yes but for example...what I ate today is not what I eat everyday...yesterday I ate at Chili's and had an appetizer for lunch with a diet coke, and I was still hungry.

On Monday I ate 2 eggs for breakfast with a piece of wheat toast and I was hungry two hours later!!!

well that's normal... you aren't eating a lot...

2 eggs is 140 calories, a piece fo toast is around 100ish calories - that's under 250 calories for one of your meals.. you are going to be hungry...

youo really need to start tracking your calories and making sure you are getting enough...

I've found that when I eat anything with mayo, or chips, it simply sets off my cravings and I NEVER feel satisfied. Also, bread (most are simply refined carbs, not TRUE whole grain) is another trigger for me. So, maybe, if you are like me, eating certain trigger foods will set off binging. Yogurt- are you eating yogurt with lots of added sugar? That too, will make me crazy.

that could be it...I always feel the hungiest between breakfast and lunch...and at breakfast I always have sugary things: Cereal, toast, yougart, fruit, etc....maybe I need to up the protein???

But still, I feel like I have a bigger appetite than most woman I know...i feel like I am never satisfied unless I eat so much....

Try eating higher volumes of healthier foods. I buy unsweetened cereals and add fresh fruit or dehydrated (unsweetened) fruit. I love egg whites with veggies. I also snack on baby carrots and cucumbers.

Try tracking your hunger through the day. Every hour or so check yourself on a scale of 0-10, with 0 being starving and 10 being gut busting full. Think of 5 as satisfied. When I did this I found I usually started eating around a 4 or 5 and ate until 8 or 9. Also track your calories and post back to let us know how your hunger scale and calories are going.

The thing is, there are two reasons why you might be thinking about food all the time. The first is that you might not be getting enough calories and your body is telling you to eat more. The second is that food might be an emotional crutch or a habit, in which case you would need to break the habit. Our advice would vary drastically depending on which of these two is the issue.

We can't really tell from your messages really which of these it might be so it's hard to figure out how to help. If you track your hunger and your calories then we will have a better picture of how to help.

One thing that also works really well for me is a lot of time I think I am hungry, when really I am not. Sounds lame but it is true. Alot of people mistake their thirst cravings for hunger. I know that you feel thirsty sometimes, but sometimes those hunger pains can be thirst cravings.

Try drinking a huge glass of water...8-16oz and let it sit for 30 mins. I know easier said then done, I know what to do myself but dont always do it, and see how you feel after 30 mins. If you are still hungry then have a snack, if you feel okay maybe have some more water or let your stomach sit.

Also try not compair your cravings too much to other women. You seem like you are an active woman and you are very muscular. Try not to be down on yourself for that.

Also you asked how you can loose weight by eating more....as long as you are eating healthy and decent sized portions if you keep your metabolism going by eating more smaller meals a day you can still loose weight versus eating three huge meals a day. Hope this helps.

Oh, I also forgot to mention....

RELAX!!!!

Part of the reason why you could be obbsessing so much over food and what you eat is because you are putting too much empashis on it in your life. You are making it out to be a huge deal and letting it take over your thoughts. When you want to eat but dont think that you should be...try to find an activity to do....open up a book, or call a friend, or go run around the block. Something to take your mind off of food.

Keeping busy can make the world of difference. Bordum can be a diet ruiner!
