Hello,
My name is pat and I need friends to help me emotionally as I try to loose weight. I need to loose 125 lbs. and I don't have all that many years left to do it. I know it is up to me, I am so aware of how to do it and feel so stupid that I don't.

HI Pat welcome!

I knew how to do it, and wasnt doing it either....but we are now,...so dont deal on the past and look forward to the future. I was in the 100lb plus club as well, I am still working on my goal, I started by saying I had four goals of 25lbs, which just seemed so much easier to tackle. I have acheived my first goal as of this week. I feel strong and really motivated. I just keep myself coming here, which helps me keep my focus. Every day counts as it gets you a lil bit closer to your goal. I wish you great success and will cheer you on!!!!!! Go on with your bad self girl!

welcome to our little world! Everyone is so very nice here! There is a LOT of information to read. I hope you find the forum as useful as i have!! As far as loosing weight is concerned, the theory behind it is simple, you have to burn more calories than you take in. Easy to say, i know, but hard to do, however, You'll get plenty of friends here to help you on your way to loosing weight and feeling great. YOU CAN DO IT!! We'll be here to cheer you on!

Thanks for the support

I know that you have to burn more calories than you take in, and do my best. I do my best with what the Good Lord has given me. I agree with taking it one step at a time. 25 sounds much easier than 125. My movements are limited, but as my health improves my movement will.

Hi Pat,
I would like to welcome you to the forum also. I am fairly new myself. I'd like to wish you luck on your journey. I think the forum can give you a some extra support. I too need to lose over 100 lbs. In the past I lost 60 lbs and recently gained back 20 of it. But now I'm on my way back down the scale. And you can do it too. Just take it a little at a time. And as Jennifer said it is a better to set smaller goals than too look at the big picture...Well anyway I wish you the best of luck and hope to keep hearing from you.

welcome from me as well:)

and good luck with your goal....I agree with the posts ahead that smaller goals are the better way to do it, because you don't get overwhelmed. And don't forget to give yourself enough time to reach your goals:)

Thanks to all that have given their support to me. I took on a big goal, to start my healthier lifestyle before Christmas. I made it through the Holidays without gaining, and now I am even down a few pounds. I am so proud of myself. I leave tomorrow to go to Boise for a couple flea markets, and that's another challenge, but I will make it.

Pat

I hope to see you in the weight loss diaries with a diary of your own. Its strange, but I've found that keeping an online diary helps to motiviate you a lot more than a home pen and paper one. I guess its because if you don't cheat on what you write its all there for you to see and you know that others are reading it and going through the same thing. We all want ourselves and each other to reach our goals, we're all strangers but we have a common ground and help each other through the rough patches. Good luck pat! You can do it.

Hi Pat!
I can completely relate with you. I maxxed out at 399 lbs. a couple of years ago and realized it was now or never. I have lost 165 lbs. so far with about 59 lbs. more to go. You got to first have faith in yourself. Start building confidence in yourself by telling yourself how much you deserve to be healthy and that regardless of your exterior you are a wonderful and beautiful person. That alone got me motivated. I too could barely move, but every small little step helps and makes a big difference. As for the eating part, someone once told me that for every bite of food you take, you only get to experience 5 seconds of flavor. What a waste. I wish you a ton of luck. When things get tough, just keep smiling!!!!

Pat I am soooooo glad to see you back and that you are still wanting to achieve your goals...and on top of it all you have lost weight through the holidays...good for you. I agree, get your diary going,...and I am sure you will find lots of support from the group here. Stay with it!!!!!
