Hunting humans should be legalized

I'm sure you guys have heard of this story by now. Yesterday was the first I saw it. I read another write-up on it that was much longer and more descriptive than this, and quite honestly, it shocked me.

lovely.. simply lovely..

and here i thought you wanted to reenact my favorite short story...

I thought the same thing as Mal.

I saw this article yesterday on CNN and can't imagine the ordeal that the "missing" daughter and her children went through. Nor can I understand how the new wife had no idea about this cellar in her house where the 4 were held.

ON CNN, they didn't publish the last name of the accused and I thought that was interesting and wondered if it was in an effort to protect the daughter and children or if it was for the accused. Whereas here, his last name is published.

It's unbelievable... I simply can't fathom. I mean the three children were born down there and they never saw daylight. Imagine what they thought when the were let out for the first time!

It leaves me to wonder what horrible things are going on at this very moment that nobody knows about.

I also wonder why the four of them didn't overtake the father and escape. Surely four people could overtake an old man. I guess they had mentally given up or something....

I also guess I can't possibly understand.

Yea, I know of that.... my mind tends to over-simplify these sort of matters. I know there's all sorts of psychological distortions going on in a situation such as this. It's just mind blowing when you view it using your own, relatively normal, filter.

I can't understand how a person could be so psychologically broken as to carry out a crime as malicious as this. Everytime I hear about it, it turns my stomach.

What is more amazing is that the most he could get in prison is 35 years. That is only if Austria allows 2 sentences.
Not that I think the guy should live, but it is amazing that he could get less time in prison than the time his daughter was held captive.

I got very upset yesterday when I thought of the poor girl being repeatedly raped by this despicable excuse for a human being, and never being free again. I mean this must be one of the most horrible things I've ever heard about, just haunting. I hope people are helping this poor family.

Yeah I heard this too... Apperantly something similar to this happened 2 years ago as well. And I'm sure there's a lot of sick things happening at this very moment that we may never know about. ... This is where a nosy neighbor might come in handy!

The whole story baffles me. Like the girl that sat on her boyfriends toilet for 2 years, but this one even more. I know I wasn't there and don't know the whole story, but it seems there are MANY ways this could have been stopped in LESS than 24 years or however long it was.

First of all, if there's a space in your house that your husband/dad says you are never allowed to go into, and keeps it locked with a keypad--Wouldn't you be suspicious? If you got children on your doorstep with a note from your supposed 'kidnapped' stepdaughter/sister would you really buy that? The whole thing just seems messed up. Surely in 24 years plots to escape would have been thought up, or screams would have been heard, or someone would have gotten curious about that 'secret room'.

It's really fishy to me. And that guy... I can't even use words to describe what a monster he is!

-N-

I didn't think the letter was stating she was kidnapped.

He faked a letter from the daughter saying she had run off to some cult and wouldn't return, not even for the kids.

At least that's what I heard.

And she was being raped since 11. Obviously there was a ton of psychological issues going on. So much so that I bet that she felt this was the way things are, no matter. No reason to escape. And the children who were down there probably didn't know any better whatsoever being as how they were born down there. Shit, they didn't know the outside world existed beyond the glimpse they might of had when the 'monster' opened the door to feed them or have sex with them or whatever.

Sick stuff.

I have been wondering about a certain aspect of this. I can understand the mother not questioning him about the basement, since he is obviously a master brainwasher. I don't agree with it, but that woman was obviously controled by him and she did what he wanted without question. What I don't understand is how this all broke. I know the oldest of the "cellar" children was found in the lobby of the building critically ill. Has anyone heard how she got there? If the door was locked with a keypad from the outside, how did she get out? Does anybody know?

Yea, I was thinking about that too. I'm sure not everything has been released yet.
