ok heres the thing ill be ok with the hunger pretty much all day i dont eat too little or too much but the thing is that by dinner time around 6 oclock is the latest ill be absolutely starving !!!! i eat sooo much and afterwards i get hungry again!!! what should i do? do you add more protein in my diet in the daytime do i eat more or less more often? any suggestions ..............HELP!!!
 
How many calories are you eating per day? What things are you eating?

i normally have too many calories actually i just went back on my diet today lol anyway i normally would eat alot of junk and bad stuff but like i said ive been eating better well at least for today overall my day would consist of breakfast having something like a couple waffles or w/e then for a snack ill have soemthing like a poptart which are sssssssssoooooooo bad so im not even going near the vending machine then for lunch ill have a lean cuisine pizza normally with some sort of beverage then ill go home from school ill get there around 4:00 pm and then ill have a sandwich or something to that effect with a snack type of thing but after that at dinner time is the worst i will go absolutely nuts with eating ill have second and sometimes third helpings of for example pizza on a friday ill take three slices! or sandwiches ill have two i knwo im a pig but by that time of the day i am just sooooo famished ! i really dont know why either from my understanding i do eat enough during the day then even after dinner ill be satisfied for the longest 2 hours then ill be hungry again!! well i guess what you are going to say is that i should just get more will power and even though im hungry to not eat so much sorry if im putting words in your mouth :) uhh thanks
 
You shouldn't be hungry, if you are you're doing it a bit wrong. Use this website to help. Harris Benedict Equation

Calculate your BMR, and then use that website above.

Once you have your numbers, minus 500 to allow for weight loss. 500 times 7 (7 days in a week), equals 3500 which is how many calories are in a pound. You will lose one pound a week that way.

Anyhoo.. you shouldn't be hungry if you eat the amount you get from that website. If you eat junk food, you won't get to what you want to be. Just think of it like that. Look around for some nice recipes and give them a go! Once you get over the first few weeks, you'll be fine!! GOOD LUCK :D xox
 
An easy rule of thumb is to multiply your weight by 10-12 calories for each pound of body weight and use that as your daily range while in a calorie deficit.

thanks all, my daily intake to maintain my weight which i do not want to do is quite high so im going to minus 1000 cals which will leave me with around 1600 cals to consume per day thanks soooooooooooooooooooooo much for your help :D it is much appreciated

I sometimes find myself in the same situation: eating alot during the day, where by lunch i have reached my daily calories, and i am hungery for dinner... i find this helps:

I try to drink a bottle of water before each meal and half a bottle before each snack...i find its two-fold in that 1. it fills you up quicker and 2. b/c i don't eat as much i reserve some calories for dinner time.

But,

Another thing you shoudl seriously be considering is eating some actual whole food that isnt coming out of a box, bag or carton. Your diet seems to consist of 100% processed to the max foods!! Poptarts, waffles, pizza, etc etc etc... No wonder you are hungry! Even those Lean Cuisine things are simply a low calorie, yet still highly processed and chemicalized horror! Ever wonder why after eating a supersized meal at McD's you are hungry again an hour later? Your body is craving REAL food.

Heres what worked to get me over the hunger hurdle. Change your snacking for one thing. A handfull of almonds or walnuts will go much further in curbing your hunger than most. They are heaped full of good fats and protein and take much longer for your body to digest, therefore not sending the hunger signals as frequently. I know that in the past I was hungry all the time, but now that I am eating "good" food thorughout the day I am never hungry, and often have to remind myself it is time to eat or snack. Eating 5 or 6 times a day is not effective if the meals you are eating have no nutritional content. Poptarts have NO nutritional value.

With all that garbage food you might as well eat the box it comes in as well for all the nutrition it is giving you. Might not be as hungry then also... ;)

Whole foods are the key. I am not saying give up everything bad and turn into a fruit and nut hippy or anything, but adding some nutritious food to that diet will do your diet, your body and your hunger a world of good.

Sirant brings up a strong point. The body doesn't base hunger off calories alone, but nutrition level. You could have all your daily calories from alcohol or table sugar but you probably wouldn't last too long.

Even from the brief description of your diet, I can tell it's horrible and totally counter productive to controlling hunger and weight loss. You absolutely need more fiber and protein. Whole grain products, nuts, lean meats, vegetables and fruits. Once you switch off the refined carbs, your blood sugar levels should normalize and your hunger should decrease. A nice salad with lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, some orange slices and carrots with a vinaigrette is far better than a lean cuisine pizza. If you hate vegetables now, you'll develop a taste for them (I still cant stomach mushrooms though).

It doesn't make a huge difference how many times a day you eat, eat as often as you feel comfortable eating to help you control your hunger. If you eat 6 times a day, however, each meal will contain less calories than if you ate 3 meals a day but either way should equal up to your weight loss calorie level.

thanks guys what you have told has is going to help alot im going to try to do what you guys said ill drink looooooooooooooottttttttttttttssssssss of water and stay awy from the vending machine lol i will also eat well better foods i have to go food shopping though sigh not such an easy task do any of you know good CHEAP foods?

Theres a lot of good cheap food; fruits and veggies are a favorite of mine: head of lettuce, some cucumbers and carrots, apples, oranges etc. I do have the advantage of having a few orange trees although apples are dirt cheap.

Chicken and fish are much cheaper than red meats and better for you. Whole grain breads are just as expensive as white breads. Its the boxes of snack crackers, microwave food, chips, sodas and so on that really add up on your grocery bill.
 
thanks again :) its true the boxed stuff is expensive but food in general is expensive lol
