Has anyone else experienced hunger headaches when they first started their weight loss journey. By that i mean, when cutting down on your daily intake of food, your body reacts to it by giving you horrible headaches. Is this headache a sign that i need more food in my body (im putting my body into starvation mode) or is it just a normal reaction that my body has when there's a change in my diet?

I don't experience this anymore since i've been adapting to my new lifestyle for about 4-5 months now but at the beginning, ive experienced horrible headaches :(

Toodles :seeya:

I've never heard of hunger headaches to be honest. I experienced headaches because I cut down on the amount of coffee and sugar I consumed drastically, but I've never had headaches because I was hungry.

Are you sure that you didn't just cut down on something in particular like caffeine that caused the headaches? I know some people get headaches from sweeteners as well, might have had something to do with that.

hi san!

I'm not sure if they are called "hunger headaches". I looked up the symptoms on google and it said it was hunger headaches ...

Before i started my new lifestyle, I stopped drinking coffee and unnatural sweets (chocolate, candies, etc). I never experienced any odd headaches. It only occured when i would cut down on my food intake. When i got those headaches, i would start binging on food and then the headache would go away! ...really weird.

Thankfully, i do not experience that anymore.

Ijustwannabefit, I guess everyones body reacts differently to different things. I don't get headaches if i dont drink water but i do if i cut down on food intake. I'm just glad im not experiencing it anymore and i hope it wont come back in the near future! :D

If it is dizzyness and/or a light headed feeling it may be your sugars crashing. People who reduce their calories can sometimes cut out too much carbs and cause this to happen. The best way to determine if this is what is happening: next time you feel this coming on eat a bit of fruit or drink some juice and see if the feeling subsides within a moment or two. If it does, crashing sugars is your culprit,

If you are getting legit pain in your head, as in headaches or migraines then I highly recommend bringing this to the attention of your doctor and chatting about it with him/her. I have done some crazy nutrition regimes over the years. From going in ketosis, to doing carb cycling, to just eating everything in order to bulk.... nothing has caused me pain/headaches that I can directly say came from changing my food(s)

That's really interesting! I will look into it more.

I sort of get a blank feeling in my head, if I stay hungry for long. This feeling disappears after I eat something.

Yes, definitely eat more. Snack on low-cal foods like celery and pb, carrots, raisins, low-cal cereal, etc.
