This guy's probably popular in the UK, but i don't think i've ever heard of him, until a couple of days ago. Watch



His name is Derren Brown and there's loads of videos similar to this where he uses mind control techniques to alter the thought process of others. Funny/interesting stuff.

Yeah i know, but apparently it's some sort of mind control technique...If you read some the comments there's an explanation as to how it actually works. You also gotta understand he probably tried this on several people before it actually worked, but we don't get to see those, so to the viewer it appears as if it works 100% of the time. There's loads of other videos, they're all pretty amazing and most some of them have an explanation of how it worked, in the video.
 
He's very good, and often explains how he does things in his shows, it's generally just basic psychology that anyone can do like 'follow and lead'.

If you’ve never heard of it before you can try this yourself – sit next to someone and subtly copy their actions (i.e. if they scratch their nose you scratch yours) right down to getting your breathing in sync. Once you’ve done this for 5 minutes or so do something like look at your watch and you’ll find that the person opposite does the same. Obviously your 'victim' can't notice that you're copying them for this to work. You’ll see in that video that Derren Brown copies the guys stance, facial expressions and actions a lot; it creates trust

He’s a self confessed con-artist and confidence trickster, he doesn’t claim any magical tricks.

Oh, I just thought, he did a great show once where he went to America to pass himself off as an Evangelist with holy powers to expose how cults and Christianity can brainwash people, I’ll have to dig it out
 
Put 'Derren Brown Messiah' into You Tube, I think it that program he also claims to be a Psychic Medium and convices sceptics that he's for real before explaining how all Phychics are frauds that work in the same way

Haha, yeah, I like him because he isn’t full of **** like most people with his skills. He has twice the talent of that guy who sat in a box for a week but doesn’t pretend he’s something special, he just admits he creates illusions to manipulate people. And he does also admit that it doesn’t always work, some people are easier to manipulate than others and he has shown instances where it doesn’t work on TV.

Unsurprisingly he’s said that people are easiest to manipulate when they’re in a group

He even did it with well respected celebrities like a comedian (can’t remember his name) who was in The Office, Hot Fuzz and the Ali G movie to try and prove it isn’t staged

NLP= Neuro-Linguistic Programming, another tool for manipulating people. The last 1-2 minutes are where he explains how he did it

No, you didn't see anything last night. In fact, you don't even remember why you clicked on this thread or have any recollection of having read this. Also, you probably feel like going to the Lounge section and starting a thread about how chickens are starting a rumor about how unhealthy chicken is just so they reduce the demand for chicken. Iv seen a few of his shows, i think he's stopped doing them now though. Just been watching these, good sh1tttttttt ;)
